CSGO Sticky thread

Xtrfy is also on this trend,

another awesome gaming peripheral brand, unfortunately not as accessible in South Africa.

I was hoping to see a good deal on the Logitech’s. From my perspective, the only mice worth getting now are the G703 (which replaced the G403), G Pro (latest), Zowie S1 or FK1. I am not yet sold on the new Glorious or upcoming Cooler Master until it experienced at least 6 months in the market.

Then I also wanted to purchase a Takstar Pro 82 which I can carry around. It is better than the HyperX Cloud II’s and is cheaper than close to all other headsets which are based on it. The Cooler Master MH752 is also essentially a rebranded Takstar Pro 82, but apparently, they lowered the build quality in order to lower the price.

Once my current G403 gives in then I am going Zowie S1 Divina. The S is an FK, but shorter and a little bit taller which will suit my hybrid’ish palm grip. The S is basically a modded FK1+ with a 3360.
Glorious Model O?

Glorious Model O?

I am a bit careful from being an early adopter. I just don’t know Glorious as a brand, but I would look into their product next year.

Alternatively, there is Xtrfy’s Project 4 mouse, but like the Cooler Master lightweight mice, this is still in development. Xtrfy’s is an e-sports centric brand with a long history of endorsement by Ninjas in Pyjamas.

Their estimated price is 59 EUR / 59 USD. I know they make really good keyboards for gaming and their mice also get rather very positive reviews. The issue is the accessibility of the brand which seems to be primarily focused on the European market. I scheme that they will take the Project 4 globally since ‘lightweight’ mice are the next big tech in gaming other than 1ms wireless. Got to milk it.

I couldn't help myself, getting a first release mouse and from Evetech no less but I preordered my Model O last night, R799 is just such a good price and everything about the shape etc appeals to me.

@Soul Assassin

Which one did you take, matte or glossy?

The 3360 is a lekker raw sensor, a little improvement over the 3310 (which Quake people still prefer), not too many enhanced features.

Now I also one want one, but it is still "coming soon" with no ETA from Evetech. I like to preorder, preferably with an estimated date in mind.

Mid August, so 3 weeks.

I got the matte black.

I still need to make my mind up. Glossy helps when you have dry hands, but the honeycomb design allows a lot of breathing room for your skin in any case. I'm a bit in between so I guess I will also go matte.

I expected the price to be well above the R1000 mark, between R1000-1200. R 800 is really cheap for a competitive e-sports mouse with really high reviews. Yes, it is probably a promotional price. I am still a bit sceptical... but hey, I am a mouse collector.

For me, I still need to find a gaming FPS mice better than the G403, which I firmly believe is either the Logitech Pro or Zowie S, and the new G403 HERO fixed all of its faults in regard with the Omron switches. Just for notice, the Glorious O does use the Omron D2FC-F-7N (20M) instead of the 50M which Logitech has now switched to, but the 20M is the lighter switch which makes sense for responsiveness in gaming. Button design also goes a long way in the longevity of the switch.

That's the new one, the one from Evetech will be the "old, big and heavy" one.

I saw that when I wanted to preorder. For some reason, they declare my area regional with shipping coming in at over R250. I will be better off ordering from Amazon.

Strangely enough, all of my business couriers regard my location as main... meh.

Same exact thing happened to me, Sasolburg is regional at R259 but Vanderbijlpark 10km away is main with free shipping so I'm shipping it to someone in Vanderbijl and I can just go get it from them.

My options are to order through Glorious themselves, but then I have to handle the duties this side or to wait on Amazon UK to list the new Glorious, alternatively I can order it through Gamegear in The Netherlands. ~R1000.

You can have it shipped to someone you know for free from Evetech and arrange your courier to collect it from them.

I'm curious to see the price on Amazon, if the shipping (incl. duties) is the same or less than ordering through Evetech then it is a no-brainer for me. At least I know Amazon has a functional and good turnaround time for South Africa.

My guess is $75 all in.

The two official Amazon outlets they list are the UK and France, the best exchange rate will win the order of the day.

Strange that none of our larger retailers has contacted them for distribution in Africa (or South Africa). Then again, our market doesn't really warm up to new things, it will be by large a niche in the gaming segment.

I am wondering how many units Evetech is planning to bring in and their internal RMA policy in regard to the Glorious O. I see they give a 1-year warranty, meaning that they will accommodate the 6 months warranty outside of the implied warranty internally - the 'money back' guarantee.

Maybe I must order the Glorious O and get done with it from Evetech. I am in Cape Town almost every day in August so might as well let it be dropped off at a person or business there.
