CSGO Sticky thread

Lack of Model O- which Evetech also have on preorder now.

Talking of the Model O-, here is Rocket Jump Ninja review of the new Finalmouse Ultralight 2. It is really small. I have 18cm+ hands and even I have adjusted my grip for better aim, but it is hard to do with the G403 which has a slightly high hump. This is part of the reason I want to downsize my mouse to the point I am aiming with my hand. For RJN the FM UL 2 is just perfect after he got used to it.

I will never be able to afford an FM UL 2; it is preordered to the point of death and they only make limited quantities of which some is sold by third-parties on marketplaces at the price of insanity. Therefore, I firmly believe that the Model O- might be the right mouse (or fit) for me, and I will wait for Evetech to stock those within a month or two.

I will just use my G403 as my daily driver and the Model O- for FPS gaming.

Is the mouse debate still going?

Come on gents just get a R50 HP mouse, it'll be perfectly fine.

I still know people recommending lazer mice. Lazer mice are nice when you play MOBA/RTS games or have large or multiple displays to move your cursor across. Native acceleration, however, impacts your consistency which doesn’t help at all training your brain at aiming. Those doing design work, I pity them using lazer sensors.

I can always start the mechanical keyboard or MOBA mice debate.

For competitive FPS gaming you need 3 essential things. 1) Training, 2) Mechanical keyboard and a 3) 3310+ sensor optical mouse.

CSGO/Quake players tend to understand ‘basic’ mice more so than others.

I think you are taking it way to seriously to the point where yields will go negative, and why a mechanical keyboard? They offer very little apart from feel and a lot of noise so far as I can tell.

At the end of the day there were guys playing doom, quake and unreal tournament with much faster gameplay and better skills in my opinion with ball mice, and the first generation lasers.

Think the marketing may be getting to you.

Only improvement I have gotten is going with high refresh rate...

Mechanical keyboards are nice although I miss my TKL. But yeah if you are bad you are bad. People you play with also makes a big difference. Momentum based

If you suck and you have the best you will still suck but if you're good and you have the best you will be better.

True.

But for example, you get people playing on inadequate mouse pads, but they will argue that a pad is a pad. The mouse needs to be able to glide, the degree of gliding is of personal preference. At the end of the day, it all comes down to accuracy, all of these tools are assistants thereof, just as much a 100+ hertz monitor and a 'bungie/wireless' cable will improve your consistency. This is not even speaking of the weight of the mouse, just as much as minimising any latency (incl. that of your internet connectivity).

You can suck less if you have the right tools, fitting for you, or if you train a little bit harder. Scraping off a few milliseconds in a game like CSGO, Quake, Apex Legends, etc. may be the difference between winning or losing.

Then there are communication, game sense and positioning which are a whole other topic for this thread which has been discussed here in-depth already.

Or… just use hacks.

Peeking sucks without a mechanical keyboard, the responsiveness of shoulder/counter peeking is too slow. You need to move fast, if you are unable to do so you will get picked.

Momentum is lost when people are having their evening talk on Radio Sonder Grense.
