CSGO Sticky thread

Reset video settings to default. I get random low fps and stuttering every now and then. Reset settings to default, and adjust accordingly after and I am running around again.

I read there's a fix for that specific issue (not sure if it applies in my case) released by one of the Astralis players.

friendly reminder for anyone who experiences the fps bug in CS, just type "logaddress_add 1" in console and it's fixed. No need to record / change res to get normal fps.

Last night my game would stutter when there were too many people or grenades thrown for some reason. I've been playing the game for years on this same PC without issues. Internet was fine with no packet loss. In-game ping of 5.

Any bug that I should be aware of?

Nothing else was open in the background, even then, that isn't was never a problem.

I have checked the game integrity today and two files were re-acquired so perhaps it was that. Will only be able to check tonight.
Perhaps double-check you are in fullscreen. I used to have issues with the game in windowed mode.

I have not checked my my fps since rtss overlay stopped working in csgo, I do however recall my fps being in the region of 240-300+ back in the day.

I enabled netgraph and I'm averaging like 150-180, this after I uninstalled steam/csgo and reinstalled it but still the same. My gpu drivers are the latest after a ddu clean.

Any ideas or suggestions? Any custom config files, launch options etc?

Not sure. Still having some issues myself. Not sure if the game just put my settings too high by default.

It's fine 98% of the time.

Opting in for the Beta can apparently solve some issues with nVidia GPUs.

So you guys losing frames, are you all playing 1080p? My game has always been steady, I only really get punished on new maps. The benchmark for CSGO is dust, but other maps can punch you frame rate down.

The custom configs for gaining some extra frames are all absolute in my opinion, if you are on an older system, maybe, but you could try "+r_emulate_gl" for a launch option.

Emulates OpenGL on Windows, provides a framerate boost for most GPUs

Yeah 1080p, everything on lowest settings or disabled.

I know that OpenGL does give a boost for some, so give it a try. There are other possible configurations to try, but it really only helps for 4 core systems or lower. I just find it odd that Valve haven't implemented Vulkan for CSGO.

That Ulletiical benchmark map isn't perfect (very old) but at least gives a repeatable number. I'd get it and get a baseline before trying different things.

The game's always run pretty solidly on my end and I run it pretty vanilla. I'll check launch options later but I think they're minimal.
