The water has to start in people’s houses (same place as the crap starts it’s journey) to keep the flow going, how would you get that salt water into the houses to go down the toilets and drains?

Its only a problem if people stop flushing. So when there is absolutely no water..

I think he meant, that people should go take a dump in the sea, instead of in their houses. :p

Was thinking this too. Make a few trips to the sea and fill up containers with seawater that you can fill your cisterns with. Not the most economically viable idea with multiple trips needed per week/month and I shudder to think of the corrosion it may cause to fittings and such, but when there is no water...what other way is there?

The majority of your suburb would need to do it, otherwise you’re basically p*ssing into the wind, your toilet flush won’t be moving the sludge if 90% of the other houses aren’t doing so or are flushing once a day.

Most people will still be flushing though... even if its with river/borehole water.

Everyone is going to do something.

Because we can't drink that water.

In a normal situation you wont use that kind of water to flush because its a mission and it looks really dirty.

In India I was impressed to see that every toilet I used had rain or borehole water. It looks really sif though.

You do know it’s fairly easy to clean river water? in fact it’s what they do to the water coming out of your taps...

If all these rivers and boreholes exist in CT (so widely available that everyone has one) why are they bothering with super-expensive, energy intensive desalination plants? It would be simpler to pump water from all these rivers to the water treatment plants.
