Hi there...

What do you guys recommend is the best anti-virus solution at the moment...? I personally use NOD32, and I think its doing the job well enough, without having an impact on system performance.

So, what do you guys recommend...?

Norton, cos it locks up your CPU cycles, so it is impossible for anything else to execute on your system! :D

:D:D:D Good one...! Well, I avoid any Symantec product available...!

BTW - Norton cannot even detect half of the infections that NOD32 detected on a machine I cleaned once...!

I have been using AVG free for years now. Perfectly happy with it.

:D I like the way Norton is advertised!!! :D

The only thing that I am not too sure of AVG is, that I don't really know how big its definition database is compared to NOD32...? NOD32 updated on a daily basis, and only downloads the latest definitions (and not the entire DB each time). That is why I am a NOD32 fan...!

I have heard many good things of AVG though, so I would give it a try as well...

I am using Avast free edition and have used AVG in the past... I switched to Avast cos AVG free was terribly slow when looking at a shared folder on the wireless lan... (scans every file... slowly...)

as far as I know AVG does the same thing. Only downloads what it needs very regularly, usually daily, and then merges it with the database.

Then you should be an AVG fan aswell! It is also updated on a daily basis and only downloads the latest definitions and not the complete database (as PC-Cillin did years and years ago).

Then I think the AVG will not work too good for me... I am using a networking environment, so speed is crucial...

I think I will give AVG and Avast a go together with NOD32 (depending on which is better).
