Which antivirus do you use? How good is it with actually detecting and deleting viruses, worms , trojen horses ect. Does it affect your pc's performance when live security is enabled? Share your thoughts and comments about the anti-viruses out there,

(I'm using Trend micro Pc cillen , I update once a day , it's rather good with detecting viruses ect. but there are allot that it doesn't detect , It does affect performance while live security is enabled)

I wanted to try AVG 8 free but I don't really trust free anti viruses because how are you supossed to get value for money if you don't pay anything?

I use NOD32 and AVG Free 8.

Both work well, although I prefer NOD32.

I've been running NOD32 trial for a few days now, quite happy with it, might just spring for a license when the trial ends. I must say that it makes really good visual impression, the interface is very clean and uncluttered, and even the detailed options are pretty well laid out.

Has anyone used ESET Smart Security (NOD32 + Firewall + Antispam) ? If so what do you think of it?

They have other components of their products that are not free...
They want consumers to have the best experience with the free products..so that you dont hesitate to buy the other products if you need them

Don't worry AVG free is the best! :)

Take it from someone that has had it since AVG Free ver. 4/5, never once had a problem with it. No virus/malware or anything harmful. The Free version just has less... "fancy" stuff that you would not normaly use in a home PC enviroment.

Best Anti Virus

I use Kasperky Internet Security.

For its price it has everything you need( anti virus, firewall, anti span, web anti virus, privacy control, parental control, proactive defence, anti malware/ spyware)

It doesn’t slow your PC down. not like Norton or McAfee. I don’t like Trend. Had endless carp with it. Kaspersky just works. No problems! It updates every 3 hours (very small if any). It is rated as one of the best in the world.

They also have a 30 Day trial available, then give me a shout if you want to buy because the online thing is just crazy with its prices.

I use NOD32. Love it and swear by it. Got 2 licences, one for me and one for my dad. Dad sold laptop so got a spare username/password for anyone ;)

Using that product myself and liked it enough to change from Kaspersky over to it.
Restart times my main reason for change,Eset product does'nt seem to hold things up so much.
Both good products offering both Firewall + AV
