I do not agree with you. If we want more blacks in rugby, it should start in at school level. I have met a few black rugby players and they all started playing in grade one.
You do not suddenly have this great skill when you turn 18.

This has to start at grass roots not at club rugby level. For it to start there kids should be forced to do PE and sport again. Children who plays sport has less time to burn schools.


So yes the education department should be get the blame not ABSA.

Early development is important, but South African people need more exposure to the sport. If you could profile blacks that do attend Rugby games, they are generally more privileged than the average citizen. Even if people cannot afford to go to the games, they should at-least be able to watch the sport on TV at home, not at the bar.

There is enough support Soweto proofed that. If people do not know the rules they will see it as a stupid game. Teaching young boys to play makes parents watch which teach them the game.
When last have you driven the Krugersdorp highway. See how many of those shacks have dishes?

Sorry I do not agree. Showing boxing on SABC has not made me understand or like the sport. If I had kids or brothers doing the sport I might have wanted to be watch. Now it can die out for all I care. ( that is the amount of interest I have. )

It's the same with all our sport. If we gave children the opportunity from grade 1 we would have seen sport transformed by now.
Even the minister of sport said this about soccer. He said that sport should be mandatory in schools again and that way we will have a world class soccer team. Not the way we are trying now.

Telling me “black” children do not play it because they do not watch it is BS. See who pitches for the victory bus tours in towns. You always see smiling little black boys shouting and cheering. They just do not have the opportunity at school level to do sports.

And plueeesssee do not play te A card.

Yeah they penalized a team who had 7 black player and not the minimum required 2 white players. It's retarded.

Why are you all in a tiff about ABSA "turning its back on its white clients".

Sport has nothing to do with you having an account at ABSA.

If you look carefully, they screw every client equally, REGARDLESS of colour ;)

If people want to get all huffy and close accounts .... then do it for the RIGHT reason: the ridiculous banking fees and the PATHETIC service this bank provides.

Errol Tobius was truly a hero of his time! Point is if you are black and have good talent then you should be chosen! This whole quota system is BS. You should get chosen on talent/potential rather than skin colour. FFS apartheid had to fu#k it up for the rest of us!

Absa sponsors the rugby.
Absa gets the money it uses to sponsor the rugby from us, and then uses the power that comes with that to please the ANC and their racist agenda.
Yeah... their service is a joke, but this is just adding insult to injury.

But I do agree that ABSA (actually all SA banks) is screwing the customer.

Yes, what I was saying is that since we are not shareholders, we cannot influence their corporate decisions.

And if we want to "punish" them by closing accounts, then I personally would rather do it because of their expensive and crap service.
