Its not a threat. Transformation will come at a cost and those who resist transformation are the worst affected by it. You can call me Mugabe all you want especially if that makes you feel good.

We are discussing ABSA's view that transformation is slow. Most here disagree with ABSA's statement. We all have different views on issues and transformation is just one of them.
I would rather go back to poverty then sell out my integrity to racists.

As seen in the quoted newspaper report of this morning, this was not ABSA's view but that of a "message" from Oregan Hoskins to the rugby unions.

At the moment the people that are the worst affected by transformation at any cost are the majority of ANC supporters.
The way how this is going, I am. I am getting sick and tired of constantly having to hear 'Transform this, transform that'.

Me if your going to include racial quotas. Transformation to a merit system is fine.

Here's the crux of the matter... what is transformation?
If it implies any form of quota system, count me out.

How do you intend monitoring and/or measuring the success of your transformation initiatives?

By seeing more and more players of colour coming through the ranks for one ..... I'm with the other guys who are against it, a rugby player to me now is a rugby player. All I see is Black&White and Green, nothing else.
And how do you measure that? And even before that, surely objectives have to be set and against those targets, the success or failure of an initiative can be judged, IMO...

We have the Sharks Academy ...... why doesn't Government/sponsors get involved in creating more Academies so that the talent from poorer backgrounds get given the chance to come through the ranks? Because they love to talk the talk but not walk the walk is why

My stance: transformation is about providing equal opportunities to all players with talent and ability to achieve their personal objectives in life. This includes merit-based selection at all levels and no quota systems.

What you suggested sounds like a structure that facilitates more players coming through the system. My question is how are the end objectives measured?
What I'm trying to get at is that quotas are necessary IMO. How else do you judge if what the structures you have put in place, i.e. Sharks Academy, are contributing to the desired end objectives. The reason IMO why there will always be strife in historically white sports regarding transformation, is that stakeholders involved cant even decide on their objectives in the first place!!
