Cyberpunk 2077

I don't play for romance...though V certainly tried.
You are missing out on a core chunk of the game
It adds new gameplay and It adds a lot to the endings

Especially the new ending unlocked with Phantom Liberty

Is it pointless getting the PL DLC soon under the current GOG sale if I am going to start from the beginning again at some point (I never finished the base game and need to re-familiarise myself with the game) but I think I am going to be so scarce on time the next few months it may take me a few months to get to the end of the base game.

i.e. does the DLC alter the story-line if one hasn't even reached the end of the base game?

You should be doing the dlc before you finish the main game, it can effect endings

It'll come up as you progress through the missions, it's sort of midway in the story maybe. But you can do it at any time just about. I would do it before the end though, as it does affect endings as stated above.

Just to add...it's a fantastic DLC, they really did a good job with it and it integrates quite seamlessly which is nice.

Yeah it does, slots in perfectly

Lot's of mixed replies

I've done all endings and can state as a matter of fact, PL does NOT change the main games endings

It adds alternative endings, but if you choose the standard endings, they remain the same

You can finish PL and still choose the base game endings

OK thanks, wow I had no idea PL was so integrated into the main game and storyline. I thought it was like finish the base game then go on to do PL related stuff :X3:

You can do that
When you finish the main game you have a choice to reload back before the point of no return with added game end rewards
You can then go do PL

I just finished it for the first time. It's probably the best DLC I've ever played, better than ME2's Lair of the Shadow Broker. Started PL just before meeting Hanako at Embers.

Some gut wrenching choices that I semi had to spoil for myself while playing, just so that I didn't screw up my ending...

After playing the game with the Immerse Gamepack for a while, it is addictive. The object tracking is outstanding. My only issue so far is that every time I leave the view of the webcam it requests for recalibration. I tried ignoring it, but it definitely looses track so you have to recalibrate. Yuck. Why can't it remember your presence? If I go take a piss, I have to recalibrate, if I have to do some work I have to recalibrate, if if if... The software can’t expect you to be engaged all the time. The immersion of it is unbelievable, being forced to sit still is another. Recalibration doesn't take long, but hell.

I also discovered that the license isn't lifetime, lol. They are very loose with the word "lifetime", as it is with most lifetime deals. It is 10 years, but for those buying it, just a notice. Is it worth it for one play through??? Eh... I have played this game a couple of times now, and, yes, it is. It changes the game; no other 3D sound software or emulation is going to allow this kind of object tracking. It is not something they added on top of the game, this is code being shared.

Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 2.21 Adds DLSS 4 on PC and Additional Fixes

CD Projekt has announced that patch 2.21 for Cyberpunk 2077 is rolling out to players on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S. The brunt of the changes are largely fixes for photo mode, as well as DLSS 4 support for PC players.

...

PC-specific
  • Added support for DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation for GeForce RTX 50 Series graphics cards, which boosts FPS by using AI to generate up to three times per traditionally rendered frame – enabled with GeForce RTX 50 Series on January 30th. DLSS 4 also introduces faster single Frame Generation with reduced memory usage for RTX 50 and 40 Series. Additionally, you can now choose between the CNN model or the new Transformer model for DLSS Ray Reconstruction, DLSS Super Resolution, and DLAA on all GeForce RTX graphics cards today. The new Transformer model enhances stability, lighting, and detail in motion.
  • Fixed artifacts and smudging on in-game screens when using DLSS Ray Reconstruction.
  • The Frame Generation field in Graphics settings will now properly reset after switching Resolution Scaling to OFF.

IIRC this will be supported on all RTX GPUs.

They still have a shoddy FSR implementation...

I tried it out yesterday on my 4080 super. The new transformer model while not 100% perfect is so good that at 3440×1440 I was able to run DLSS performance and it still looked nearly native. Combined with path tracing and frame gen I was get around 120fps on average with a near pristine image. It's making me want to do a third playthrough :D.

Guys, I want to start a brand new game and finally play Phantom Liberty for the first time. Updated everything to 2.21 so I'm ready to go.

I know I probably asked before but I forgot: when would be the best point in the game to start PL or will the game let me know? Thanks.

I did it before meeting Hanako at Embers (the point of no return in the main game)...

Same, oh also be nice to Johnny, gives you a possible another 2 endings.
Sometimes it's hard to be nice to Johnny, because what the game considers to be nice actually means being a dick to him...

Yeah, there is that issue :-(. Though I do wanna play it again, especially now with the little silly things like him appearing more.
