Wonder if it's router related or Cybersmart related. If it's just me and you affected could be router related...

Just rebooted router and it seems to be better...

Spoke too soon...

* Sigh *

Again off and on.

Constant time-outs. Resetting the router does nothing. Been this way since before Xmas.

* Sigh *

DLoads start off well then fizzle to nothing! Time-out. Try again.

Reminding me more and more of IBurst... Cybersmart say nothing wrong.

JUST FRIGGIN WORK DAMMIT!

Last year this time when this happened Cybersmart ran out of international bandwith. They neglected to tell anybody and it was only revealed on a MyBB thread a few months later.

This is what Laurie Fialkov at Cybersmart had to say about the issue...
Yesterday between 9:15 and 10.03 to be precise one of our upstream providers had planned maintenance ( 4am their time), they omitted to notify us. When we discovered the outage at 9:15 we rerouted traffic. It takes a little time for the bgp routes to propogate and the one route was down so there was major intermittance in this timeframe. Traffic was rerouted trhough this provider around about 3pm yesterday which also resulted in some route propogation, but that change was planned so it would only have been slightly noticeable.

There were two other outages one on 24 December when the plan upgrade failed

We have not had any issues since then. There is a general shortage of capacity at the moment specifically during the day, this will result
in slow browsing but certainly no disconnects. we are praying that more capacity will be available at the end of the month, early next month.

Why is it that Laurie is the only one that has a single clue what's going on at Cybersmart?
You phone the help desk and they deny anything is wrong, and then you get Laurie coming back with a reply that contradicts the helpdesk.

I asked last year for them to simply publish issues like WebAfrica. They do but it's just not consistent.

The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

The network link was interrupted while negotiating a connection. Please try again.

I have a VPN Fixed IP ADSL Thing with SAOL and a Tracert Says it uses Cybersmart's Bandwidth...

I'M HAVING THE SAME SHYTE!

Downloads Start, then die after a while
Some sites don't resolve, try again in like 5mins and they load up perfectly?!?!

This is making me MAD!

International seems to be on the back burner all of a sudden, generally been stable for me since Wednesday but now not..

Local is blitz though. How much of this inconsistent service is Telkom though? and Telkoms feed to Cybersmart?
