Cycling

I understand from distance what happened with Juan looks as you described. What I can tell you is that his knee injury from the crash on the strade Bianche stage was much more significant than was generally known. Juan is super nice kid, very motivated and with a lot of pressure on him in Spain, remember in Spain every kid who does anything is pushed as the next Indurain or Contador. He is a better team player than he is portrayed, but definitely has his own ambition as he should. As too your comment re Isaac and UAE would rather have him than complete against him. I would argue UAE are very good at developing talent once identified. Look at the L'Avinir winner from the last 10years and which ones are in a position to win a grand tour. Obviously success breeds success.
Look what Tim is doing now. The tour team is known at the December training camp. ( No changes were made to the team from December) compare that to Ineos where guys were at the pretour training camp 10 days before the start of the tour and didn't know if they were riding.

Watch for Pablo Torres, you won't have seen much from him this year - he had a big crash in Hungary, but he is going to the the next superstar pure climber.

Ah and Vuelta is Tadej and João co leading. No Isaac or Juan. Max 1 grand tour per year for the u23 riders at UAE.
Thanks on the UAE insight... they do seem to have their priorities right in that setup. I just thought with Almeida's crash that he might not be up to the Vuelta, but then again these guys are pretty tough, he has more than a month to recover, so should be ok, and I do like him a lot as well. I reckon Majka and Bjerg will then go as well? I have seen him in the Volta Catalunya and thought this guy is new in UAE, so will see how he develops.

Interesting stage profile today - 140km flat and then Ventoux. I wonder if any teams still have legs left to make the flat fast in an attempt to tire out their rivals. As far as stage winner goes, I only see one option.

Sad that Van der Poel had to witdraw from the Tour because of pneumonia :(

Going to need to be careful leading into the climb.

I think we need a better pic of Tim?
I try to pick the most creative shots of the day and that was the most interesting pic I saw of Tim lol. Wish whoever took it could give us his whole body and bike.

Man I always love the Ventoux. Great battles at the front and between Tadej and Jonas. This time Jonas managed to stay with Tadej. :)

Only 3 more days guys :(

Also, wish there were bigger penalties for cheaters like Lenny Martinez and their teams. Maybe even disqualifications. Instead he only got an 8 point penalty in the KOM classification. Sometimes riders (and drivers) just get off way too lightly.

Wasn't able to watch today. What's a he do?

Here. I see it's all over the news in cycling lol. (Sorry it's in French)

Everyone else, including sprinters have to climb these mountains or face elimination. Lenny, in the polka dot jersey, who is supposed to be one of the best climbers, have to cheat his way up the climb. Cheeky sticky bottles are nothing new but this was way more than that.

Haha some people comparing what he did to what Nibali did in the 2015 Vuelta which resulted in him being DQd. Not quuuuuuiiiiite the same lol

The commentators didn't even notice.
