I see the Spanish PM was supportive of the protesters, that explains why the police let them run wild. Did IPT qualify, or were they invited this year?
They qualified. Sorry, the Vuelta didn't invite them, my bad. The 3 wildcard invited teams were Burgos, Q36 and Caja Rural.

I mentioned no one will want to ride next year, but I'm thinking no one will want to sponsor next year either. I can't see how the Vuelta bounces back from this without a significant undertaking from the government.

At least IPT finished the Vuelta with Matthew Riccitello on the makeshift podium as the best young rider overall. He also finished 5th in the GC :)

Job well done.

And well done Jonas. I hope he remembers to thank Tadej for not coming to the Vuelta lol.

The riders held their own little podium ceremony lol

This clip is probably the highlight of the last three weeks. It's been the worst grand tour that I can remember and the fact that these domestic terrorists were allowed to get away with it is infuriating.
I bet there wasn't one "release the hostages" banner.

Correct. By far. Not only grand tour but the worst cycling and sporting event in general (that I've seen anyway)

And I really hope it doesn't spread to other races now too at this scale. So far other races had far smaller and easier to deal with "protests". But even the smaller "protests" at this Vuelta were really bad and badly dealt with. Like they actually ran into speeding pelotons trying to hurt or kill riders and themselves. Crazy stuff.

I haven't done any ZRL, yet anyway, mostly training plan rides, following bots to maintain a w/kg, random free rides, etc. My wife got me my TacX Flux 2 S for my 40th in 2021 and while I still prefer being on the road or the trail, it is convenient to be able to jump on the trainer for an hour or two and be able to hop off if one of our boys wakes up. I only got back on a few weeks back, we have struggled with our youngest who is nearly 17 months old but is sleep is a lot more stable these days. A good friend who emigrated to New Zealand a few years back got big in to ZRL, represented SA, won the top league with his team, etc. so you can go mad with it. Enjoy!

Its highly addictive.

I also like the convenience factor. Specially in winter in England where its wet and dark outside lol.

The WC.... So refreshing to watch a cycling event with not a stupid palestine flag anywhere in sight. No protests, no annoying climate activists, no sjws.... just cycling. As it used to be all over Europe. Miss those days.

Evenepoel looking like a machine, in the MTB XCO I see Hatherly is dominating again!

Yup, Remco will win his 3rd TT gold in a row. As expected really. He just overtook Tadej lol.

But Tadej will win the road race (I hope).

Tadej drops TT form quickly if he doesn't ride the TT bike. It's a pattern we seeing a lot. Think Dauphine. He's on good form on the he road bike but maybe missing a few long rides 6hr+, so I think he will be good but it's a very tough course. I think Isaac will be good but may not last the distance. Watch Ayuso to spring a surprise.

With McNulty winning GC in Luxembourg today. UAE break the record for the most wins in a season in Pro Cycling.

I tried my hand at bleeding my brakes over the weekend and I've definitely improved the feel. Lots of black gunk came out of the calipers and hoses. Yuck.

I also swapped left and right so that front brakes are now on the right side, and rear brakes on the left. Having it the other way around was confusing my biker background muscle memory.
