Hi guys,

My old Netgear died and I just bought a D-Link DSL 2750U from Telkom. I need to change it's mode from "Router+Modem" to "Modem Only" mode since I have an Asus N66U Router. I'm not familiar at all with this device and I can't seem to find any answers online. Can anyone let me know what I need to do here?

Thanks really appreciate the help

Connect with an Ethernet cable to the modem. Open your browser. Go into the settings page, normally 10.0.0.2. Click on wifi and select wifi to be deactivated.

How does turning the Wifi off stop the Router functions?

yup sorry guys I figured it out - had to change the internet setting to bridge mode. All sorted, cheers!

What you are looking for is "Bridged Mode" under the settings where you enter your ISP details.

I'm not familiar with this particular router but it should be simple enough to find.

Well. It stops the wifi from routing. ( I might of missed something in his question. :erm: )

Yup, you missed a whole lot.

^ Think this is what you need - assuming you want the modem to establish the connection (don't want bridge mode).

Under LAN settings you should find a disable DHCP option.

No he does want bridge mode because he has a router doing the work behind the modem.

And he's already found it, so all sorted.

a Matter of interest, there is a disable wifi button on the back of the router. So just disable it that way
