Got my hands on a D200 today. I upgraded from a 450D. oh boy. I am so in love. I wish it was day. I wanna take me some pictures

Congrats on your new camera. Why don't you see what version the firmware is? Seeing as you can't go outside and play with it at the moment why not upgrade the firmware if it hasn't already been upgraded?

Are you sure that was a good trade? The D200 is ooooold. I know it's a higher-end body, but I'm curious how image quality (and in particular low light/high ISO) compares to the 450D?
The D200 is quite old... I'm assuming Talentloos got it second hand though because they have been discontinued so don't think you can buy them new anymore. Also we don't know what their budget was...

i got it for R3000. i know its older but i try to avoid high iso shooting anyway. i chose it because of the outlay. everything is just so easy to access. and everything is changeable from the top lcd. and it just feels so goddamn awesome to hold in your hand. i have the kit 18-55, 50mm f1.8 prime, and 55-200. im actually quite fond of the kit lens. (saving for the 35mm prime though.)

Yeah, I know what you're saying. I've went straight for Canon's xxD line for that precise reason.
If you're keeping the ISOs low, then I guess it doesn't matter much. But damn, the newer bodies open up such nice possibilities!
Consider the Sigma 30mm f/1.4. It's awesome!

my flatmate has a D90. thats were i started feeling the shortcomings of the canon. i was originally looking for a D90, but then the D200 came along and i must say i prefer it to the D90. the D90 kind of feels like a toy compared to the D200. but i still wouldnt mind having one though...
The D200 is a work-horse camera... Built to last...
Got given one when I started freelancing for Independent Newspapers and used it as my primary camera (second was my D80).
The only downside to it is its high ISO capabilities, or lack thereof...
