D3 Demon Hunters Conclave

No you dont... And in higher grifts its not even boring. T6 though is a snooze fest for me

eeeish.

So far behind. So much not-enough-time-to-play-cos-of-other-stuff-that-needs-doing

Ok, let me rephrase - I feel like I need a generator :D

Probably at the point where I can switch to FA's....

You don't need a generator. Archer is talking the trufs!

You need EA (Frost) + CA (Maelstrom) + MS (Arsenal) on your bar, plus Companion and either Vault or Smoke Screen.

Your damage is negligible compared to the sentries'. According to d3profile, a single Sentry of mine does from 78mil up to 108mil dps on a single elite (if both wolf companion and BotP are active). In no world will me spamming anything come close to that. You're better off running around like a little girl avoiding the Bad Stuff whilst the Sentries do all the killing for you.

If you keep firing FA with a Krider its a diff story. Frozen mobs cant do much

I don't have a problem with frozen mobs; I have a problem with leaping/teleporting mobs, frozen orbs, lighting storms, exploding mobs and jailers. Those result instant death in most cases, and them being frozen would have made no difference.

I think if I was a better or more observant player, then firing arrows would have been fine, but being constantly on the move has worked far better for me than standing and firing arrows.

Depends on play style i guess. For me personally playing D3 and not shooting or hitting things myself doesnt feel right somehow.

I think the thing that would boost your clear speed the most is a bombadiers quiver. That for me is more important than TnT.

I hear you, and I agree.

At "easier" difficulties such as T6 and GR30 and lower, I fire arrows and pretend I know what I am doing, since I know I am safe from any insta-death type abilities. It does get boring then to stand around and wait for your sentries to kill everything, so you might as well contribute.

My argument is only for higher level GRs. You're not feeling bored at all since it's quite tense trying to dodge crap while your sentries are killing everything. I breathe a sigh of relief for each pack I survive that had any of the aforementioned abilities. It's about positioning, pre-emptively moving/using smoke screen based on a unit's animation, making sure you don't put yourself in a corner, timing health pots with Templar heals, etc. Wanna see my bald spot? :P

Kiting expert!! :D

Ok I listened to you and Archer and stopped shooting at enemies myself...and I immediately went from GR27 to 29.
So much for being useful :)

Picked up a nice Nat's bow last night - some tweaking around and now at BP5

Running solo with Unity Ring (which has decent stats) my raw dps is up to 925

With SoJ, I drop raw dps to 862 but elite dmg goes from 37% to 54%

As a result of hitting BP5 (and using a hand xbow), I'm dropping the Archery Passive in favour of Custom Engineering - with ChC at 47.6 without para points I reckon the extra sentry and increased uptime is worth the tradeoff.

Now to play around a bit with Aughilds' Shoulder and Bracer and see what I can do on that front.

Fun times

PS: Two Bomba's dropped for last night while rifting but those T&T's just wont drop for me - half considering just gambling for a better Marauder Helm so that I can play with the Aughild's in the meantime

I'm not a fan of the Archery passive, when I have to choose between the basic dps skills I go Ambush > Steady Aim > Archery.
Custom engineering is ok, but measure how many times you have all the sentries up, otherwise its not always worth it.

For bracers you can craft a Reaper's Wraps and use Blood Vengeance, they work nicely together to give you a lot of extra Hatred.
Replacing my 43% TnT with my Magefist or full M6 - RoRG drops my GR by 2 odd. So for you coming from the other side isn't the end of the world (yet) if you don't have one.

Also interesting, go check some of the top DH's now doing 44-47 GR. The top guy for example is doing about 1.5m dps and is using a lightning elemental arrow build + Helltrapper 1h. He seems to use polar sentries for Cull the Weak and to slow enemies so the slow lightning bolts do more damage. He's using one Bane, Enforcer and Zei's Stone. After that he was stacked in survival skills hehe.

I'm looking to add some more survival skills myself and up my dps to toughness ratio. I think it's time to get rid of Vault maybe.

Ja, at rifts greater than 30 I'm kiting back a lot and then it's very nice luring the buggers back into the turrets that are already there. :D
