D3 Demon Hunters Conclave

Oculate

Using cindercoat which DH skill can i get 25% fire cost reduction.

Example:
Cluster Arrow (Fire) cost 40 hatred. Cluster arrow without any skill rune selected is fire damage?

Any skills that cost Hatred and can be turned into Fire damage would give you the -25% cost reduction. Basically any skill that has the Fire (red) skill background

eg,

Sentry-Spitfire
Cluster Arrow-Loaded for Bear
Multishot-Arsenal
Elemental Arrow-Immolation Arrow (would only work without a Krider)

@AfricanTech

Once I can get my hands on a Krider, I'll also switch to Frostburn... but for now, the -30% cost is too awesome to pass up

Finally got my copy of RoS laying at home. I've got a level 59 DH. Here's what my main looks like. Any advice would be highly appreciated.

And here's the profile link. Hopefully this works.

Thanks all.

Hmm, this really isn't meant to be flippant.

The best advice I can give you is get to LvL 70 as fast as possible by:

1. Getting a helmet with a socket and sticking the biggest ruby you have into it
2. Craft a Cain's set (if you've been lucky enough to pick up the plan)
3. Use +xp gear

Get to Lvl 70 - then the game really starts.

Did you post a link to your toon?

That Krider...

Join the clan and get one of us in game with you to powerlevel you at T6.

Seasonal or Non-seasonal?

First, get to 70 :)
Second, farm Act 1 bounties until your eyes bleed (or better yet, join T6 games with friends) - You'll really want a Ring of Royal Grandeur after you hit max level
Thirdly, work your way up the Torment levels until you can acquire 5/6 Marauder's Set Pieces, then jump straight into T6 :p
This step can be done by bribing Kadala a couple hundred times or by lootsharing with fellow DH players

Once you're in T6, the builds open up to what ever you feel like playing :)

It's a little outdated (for 2.1.1 instead of 2.1.2) but the basics are there and we can help with any additional queries

No offense taken at all. I've just been between houses and didn't really have internet. I'm planning to play the new act and see how far that takes me levelling wise then I'll see if I can find some of you guys online and start power levelling.

Thanks for all the advice.

I'm not a fan of Pride or even Hexing Pants. They're a lot of work (and hoping to not get hit in Pride's case). If you stand far back you might not take damage, but you're also going to be moving too slow to link packs together to get max bonus from all your sentries.

But after that a lot of items are far closer than people think. I got my best GR36 yesterday using Frostburn, but I got times very close to it using both my Blind Faith and then for giggles Garwulf in two different runs (although I have Bracers+Bow that's already giving me cold bonus, so the extra bit from the gloves are less important for me). Given slightly different enemies I could have bettered my time in either case.

But I like the fact that you can now mix and match almost any 6th slot and you're no longer forced to use TaT. If you got a super Unity/DPS Ring+SoJ you could even go proper 6M and stop using RoRG.

Play the new act, its pretty cool. After that you can just do bounties on the easy Acts. You'll build up a nice stash you can use for Rifts later.

Yes, you have far more options now. The brief tests I did was that my Frostburn setup performed more or less the same as running with the Pride Helm. Frostburn did more damage, but you had less shots. With Pride it was more shots and less damage.

Pride isn't too bad if you can keep your distance. For GR I think Frostburns CC would be preferable.

Linking packs together? Thats what the Maelstrom rockets are for!

Less resource cost = more CA's until you take damage, you really don't need to focus on 100% uptime of the buff... especially with Reaper Wraps + Companion + Prep Punishment

My average rotation

Drop 3 sentries (21 hatred, 129 hatred remaining), unload 4 CA's (112 hatred, 17 hatred remaining), drop another sentry or 2 if possible while re-positioning/vaulting, pop Prep Punishment if I'm still up against a large force or Companion if there are a couple stragglers left and clear them with as many CA's as I can still cast, vaulting through health globes....and vault off to the next pack of mobs

rinse repeat

If I get hit, it takes 5sec of not taking damage to regain the buff, 2 vaults and i'm in the clear usually

I have a set of Hexing on my non-season toon and it really was fantastic under the old M6 - with the new M6 you have to stutter step all the time and that really is too much hard work.

That was my first really rare drop though so I have great nostalgia for them

Sorry for digging up past discussions, but to get back to the topic of Enforcer usage: I've found some conflicting reports on whether Enforcer gem still applies to Sentries, as apparently Sentries are no longer considered to be pets. Now, I've found as many reports saying that Enforcer does still work, as I've found reports that say they do not, so I'm not sure who to believe.

I've tried my own tests last night, by observing Sentry CA damage per shot for a whole T6 rift, then removing the gem and observing the damage per shot again. Honestly, I could not notice a difference in the damage, so there might be merit in that statement.

Does anyone have any more detail on this? I've noticed that the top DHs play with BoP instead of Enforcer.

Hmm, I use BoT (Bane of the Trapped), Zei and BoP (Bane of the Powerful).

Just need to be more disciplined about standing further away for maximum Zei effect :o

Hmm, need to level my Zei up perhaps. Have been using Moratorium to lessen the effects of those fkn lightning strikes in high level GRs

A bit of googling and I can see the confusion...also trying to determine which yellow numbers belong to you or your sentries must be a nightmare.

Personally I dropped my Enforcer for a Zei's so that I at least get some benefit opposed to my pets having all the fun

I stuffed around last night with my non-ancient Krider and while it was nice spamming EA, the CA damage was very lackluster :(

To echo the previous comments on this, there are 2 main choices

If you use a Krider:
Drop Pride's Fall/Cindercoat and get Frostburn/Magefist (or drop RoRG and run Unity/SoJ)

If you don't use a Krider:
Craft a Xbow (for maximum CA damage) or craft a bow (for the fire/ballistics Multistrike builds) and get as much RCR equipment as possible
