D3: High Level Char Stats

So upped my gear a bit, changed out to a shield and 1H as recommended. Act 1 is now a walk in the park and even did the first quest from act 2 (needing to avoid elite packs though :( )
A lot more defensive at the moment, so surviving a lot better, but taking longer to clear normal trash.
Guess I am stuck having to wait for the patch or grinding for more gold to get better gear for act 2. Really need to up my weapon and life on hit again. The faster 1H I am using now is off setting the 200 life on hit that I have lost, but I feel that I need to get back to 400-600 levels...

I am REALLY trying to find a viable 2h build for my barb 2nd time round, but hear what you're saying about the 1h + shield. Unless weapons are adding LoH going with anything else seems suicide in Inferno...

PS I still hate monks :D

If life steal was only nerfed to 40% in inferno, then barbs would have soooo many viable 2H builds :/ Meh, dunno what I'm going to do with my barb once I get there. Really really really want to try out a slow but epicly powerful 2H weapon build. Otherwise it'll play like another monk, fast attack with LoH

I know deep down you love monks :p

When I do runs to help friends in Act I inferno or Hell I run my Barb with a big-ass 2 handed sword with awesome looking lightning on. It just looks awesome and its allot of fun! Wish it was viable while progressing further.

hey don't forget about the witch doctor running around in the back round :)

Bud when you reach Hell, you need to start looking at your skills long and hard. I thought my Barb was unbreakable until Act IV of hell, where I suddenly found the need to have a more "survivable" build. I saw a clip of a Wizard farming Act I of Inferno, the player used Diamond Skin(?), that skill that clones you and Arcane Orb as staple spells. I still don't believe in following another's build for success, but if you're struggling, give it a bash?

I did actually reskill somewhat. Added 'Mirror Image' and switched to Arcane Orb as my secondary attack. That helped me loads in surviving the elites.

I recall you saying something about this earlier... Sadly I wasn't paying too much attention as it was mentioned along with something about a monk :P I wish this was made more clear though. I don't play with any number displays turned on, so I'm not able to see what life I get back on hit (obviously need to change that).

I know deep down you love monks :p

When I get a nice drop from a mob a monk has killed while my life regen's, then I don't particularly mind, however straight after I pick up the item, it resumes :D

barbarians are fun :D stompstompstomp :D my 2 cents for ya :p

OT: lvl 58 now, somewhere in act 2 hell, still having no issues. guess cos its still easy hey :p

Barbs are pretty easy and fun leveling to 60, specially if you buy the odd cheap gear from the AH (Drops simply sux and does not retard to the content level you are anyway).

The bad thing is, dmg and specially melee dmg (most is melee also) is very high in the later Inferno Acts and unless you out gear the content you are doing its not much fun being a barb at all. Problem being you need Act 3 gear to finish Act 2 and Act 3/4 or nicely rolled items to finish Act 3/4
So it all turns into the AH game and a gold grinding game and now with these scripts and bots the good items actually goes up in price.

We the guys who like doing gear farming runs don't get drops that really helps and we know farming Act 2 to progress into Act 3 is not going to help since the iL63's you need have no chance to drop in Act 2.

Hopefully 1.0.3 comes soon and brings the right sort of balance. Its a fine line they need to hit imo and they can also totally screw it up in the wrong way again.

Guess I should give an Barb update since thats actually what this thread is about :)

HP: 53k
Armour: 9480
Block 31% (playing around with this)
Dodge: 15.3%
Dmg Reduction: 76%
Physical Resist: 1076
All Resist: 1k
Dmg: 12k (15k in battle)

Act 3 and 4 = hard & not cool. Yes I can and have skipped most elites and done bosses, but that's hardly fun as I said many times before

Bud how did you get your resists so high? Even with the 50% bonus rune in War Cry mine are at ~430.
My latest stats:

Level: 60
Class: Barbarian
Armour: 6k (7.3k with shield)
Dodge %: 13%
Resist to all: Varies. Highest 320, lowest 250
Damage: 10.5k (11.9k with 1h and shield )
HP: 22k

I'm in the process of trying a different approach with my new barb. Hopefully when he is worthy of this thread, he'll have some interesting stories to tell.

You have 12 items that can have all resist on. Each item can have 70, some 80 on. Having 10 items with +- 70 on will give you the 670+- resist you need to reach 1k when buffed.

On another note, I jumped unto my Wizard again last night (have played her in ages) and with another fresh 60 friend (also a Wizard) we played through Act I Inferno. 2 Wizards = fun. Think I died once maybe :)

Stats on the Wizard (no idea how decent it is and how far I can get with it, will have to look into things again)

HP: 34.4k
Armor: 4268 buffed
Life per second: 800
Resist all: 300 buffed
Attacks per Second: 2.03
Crit hit chance: 21.50%
Crit hit Dmg: +50%
Dmg: 28k unbuffed, 40k buffed

Let me rephrase :D
Did you pick most of your resist items up, or purchase them?

Obviously Purchased most of it. There is no other way to play a melee character and progress with the current state of Inferno seeing that you need Act 2 gear to do Act 2 and Act 3 gear to do Act 3 (range can get away with buying loads less)

1.0.3 is suppose to change this.

1.0.3 is seemingly supposed to fix a lot. I wish I could link the blue post (taken from Force's last Purgatory) which highlights some of the changes that Blizz would like to have in 1.0.3 and those that will definitely be there.

According to the post, mostly ranged characters brought up the arguement that if you're already dying a lot in Inferno, increasing repair costs was only going to make things more difficult. Cleary they had not taken Molten - Fire chain - Reflects damage - shielding into account with Barbarians. I really am glad I've saved my gold as it will now need to be spent on repairs.

Some of the other changes are appreciated for melee though, such as the monstors that have that swing the weapon over their head (their charged attack) not changing to auto face the character when they finally swing, and the bee's in Act 2 not running away, then turning around and shooting their mini-me's straight away (both may not make 1.0.3 if I recall though).

It seems I'll really need 1.0.3 to land before I get out of Act 1.

Without spending allot on the AH yes.

What I'm looking forward to regarding 1.0.3 is the fact that they want to sort out dmg for melee, specially the big spiky hits. And also the way the gear drops will hopefully make it easier to progress.
Not sure how I feel about the comment from them that Act I feels right and the Acts should flow better into each other. If it "flows" better in 1.0.3 great, I like that, just don't nerf it all and make it loads easier. There is really just a few little things that needs fixing that will make less rng and more skill related.

FINALLY..... the Rock.... I mean FINALLY..... Conan has reached.... Level 53.

My stats, however, worry me in relation to my first post. That being said, I'm not actually struggling...

Level: 53
Class: Conan the Barbarian
Armour: 2800
Dodge %:
Resist to all: 30 :erm:
Damage: 2.7k
HP: 13.5k

I'll post my build in the builds thread.

I really need to gear up.

Level: 60
Class: Barbarian
Armour: 7k unbuffed, 8.2k buffed, 9k with enchantress.
Dodge:
Block: 20%
Resists: 600 - 650 all unbuffed (900 - 980 with warcry up)
Damage: 11k
HP: 25k.

After 1.0.3 dropped, act 2 went from nigh impossible (2 or 3 white mobs would flatten me in half a second even with all my damage mitigation up) to tougher than act 1, but doable. Even Belial where I am now is a spank and tank fight, apart from that platform wide AoE.

Did a 3 man butcher run the other night with a fresh lvl 60 barb and my friend on his DH. Both got one shotted at some point, while I was quite happily standing toe to toe, even in the fire. And yet they both think that resists are a minor stat...
