Aren't these the people who were bused in from the Eastern Cape to vote for the ANC?
Perhaps the DA should bus them back to where they came from using ANC money.
Blikkiesdorp was set up as temporary emergency housing in 2008 and has grown to nearly more than 1 500 structures with electricity and communal toilets and water taps.
Wow sounds horrific.
It would be nice to build everyone a house, free quality medical, education, water, electricity, transport etc but there is just too many people and too little money. Problem lies is the culture of breeding when you can't even afford to feed ones self.
I agree to that the money spent on the WC is excessive but that is hardly a DA thing, look at the rest of the country.
ITS NOT SUSTAINABLE YOU HAVE TO TAX EVERYBODY!
I think SARS has realised that![]()
Why is it the people who pay no tax and contribute little to nothing to this country that complain the most?
Many earn a salary but earn only enough to barely survive, does that make that person a second rate citizen?
Well they are trying to register everybody, what the outcome of that will be I don't know.
A 5 figure salary is a bit small...
Think you're a bit confused as o how tax brackets work.
Um, maybe because they are homeless? And just because one does not fall under a tax bracket (ie miners, refuse collectors, etc) does not mean that you are not a valued and contributing member of society. I think the DA are doing well here but please remember just because you earn a 5 figure annual salary does not mean that you are the only one that counts. Many earn a salary but earn only enough to barely survive, does that make that person a second rate citizen?
That person should pay tax. Then included in that is a benefit they will receive in return. To not do so makes them feel entitled instead of contributing and receiving in kind. And that, ronjay, is the problem with this country.
Who said working people are second rate? Who said people are second rate in the first place?
Does not sound very nice. Maybe whoever said it was talking about the lazy people who expect everything and do nothing for it? I suppose that is pretty second rate?
No, he said those that don't pay taxes.
Why is it the people who pay no tax and contribute little to nothing to this country that complain the most?
NO. He said those who don't pay taxes AND contribute little or nothing to this country. There is a big difference. Go back and read it.
You are the one that misinterpreted it and started all this "second class citizen" talk.
EDIT: Here you go (just in case you don't bother to go back):
Notice that part in bold? Yeah. That is the part you ignored.
