So basically Agang represents the same policies as the DA but with an acceptable black face the masses would be comfortable voting for.
Not at all considering most of the people I work with are not even white. People are easily sucked into the propaganda the ANC spins. Perception and all that.
Re this weeks news. You dont think the DA approach in dealing with that rogue councilor was sufficient? How else could they have responded that could have shown they are more serious with dealing with race issues? I thought suspending the guy showed that they take this seriously.
Ill let the members in Mdantsane know that they dont know about that. Sure they`ll take her seriously.
What relevance does this have in this thread?
both incidents show that there is a nonchalant attitude when it come to race relations in the DA and their supporters.
Thats a tiny tiny tiny percentage of DA people that the ANC is making sure they blow out of proportion so people like you think there is an issue. Perception is easy to manufacture. While you guys are focused on petty race issues that are quickly dealt with but are blown out of proportion..... the ANC are robbing you blind. The longer they can keep you focused on race issues the more they can rape you for. Same with leaders in the Middle East.... longer they can keep their population focused on religious issues, the more oil they can steal. The response from DA leadership has been spot on in the EC instance and I feel the Speaker of WC legislature was right to request Botha to apologise for his baboon comments, however, both incidents show that there is a nonchalant attitude when it come to race relations in the DA and their supporters.
You always mention the non-white people you interact with in the DA at grassroots level, would you point them of the direction of this forum for example to view what the some of the opinions about their circumstances are shared about DA supporters here?
I think its insulting to all our black DA members. The day that the number of black members in the DA is more than white members is quickly approaching. Im pretty sure in the EC white people are already a minority. But we all have our opinions. That is what I think Mamphele is saying.
I agree with her. SABC replayed Miracle Rising on Monday, I watched it again and the scene that pisses me off the most was when the police drove into the township in an unmarked truck with them hiding in boxes at the back, and then they reveal themselves and start shooting randomly. Why did they do that?

She's right, DA people like Ghoti don't understand.
To criticise the DA, as is saksak's wont...

The insinuation is there.
She said the party had wanted to "co-opt" her. "The DA and I disagree, not because they have a different kind of policy position, but they don’t understand just that … the scars of racism in this country have not completely healed," Dr Ramphele said.
How does that criticize the DA?
She's right, DA people like Ghoti don't understand.
Thats nice.I still don't see the insinuation,
Could you perhaps explain what you mean by this?
Who knows with that one... But that is usually their tactic.
Well, in the EC incident, the councilor they suspended for the "racist", in the words of Trollip not mine, circulated the contents via mail and they eventually ended up of the DA EC facebook page where ghoti placed them here as a joke. He removed them afterwards and says he complained about the post internally. Not really race sensitivity 101 is it?
The WC legislature one was defended by some on this forum as saying Botha was using an afrikaans saying common amongst afrikaners, however the person who he was addressing is not afrikaans, he is black, and quite frankly a seniour DA politician should know better than to even think of calling a black person a baboon given the way the word has been used to degrade blacks in the past.
