I don't like the DA either.. Their flyers for one. "STOP JACOB ZUMA, VOTE DA"

That is just shocking and immoral propoganda, they should be promoting their party in ways that don't put other parties down. All they want to do is get people to hate the ANC and so vote for them. Their also guilty of giving the people what they want to hear.
 
Pooky, the adults are attempting to discuss something, go and do your homework...

Politicians are always attempting to give people what they want to hear, its not unique to any political party, when you grow up you may realise that.
 
Sackboy : the name changes, are the direction this "discussion" has gone to because it is something that can very easily directly be compared between the two cities, which are run by two very different political parties.

Does that mean the DA should resort to gutter politics or stick to the moral high ground (if they ever did). I recall their big "Fight Back" gaff as one of the worst ones.
 
So you were one of those then ....... how a bunch of idiots could take a Fight Back slogan and make it about fighting blacks ..... ffs, I'll never know :rolleyes:


Edit: And I don't see what the DA is currently doing as 'gutter politics' ....... they aren't the ANC ;)

It was a gaff, whatever the intention. And that's what counts - how it was perceived by many voters.

That was always my problem with the Botox Zille and her little party.They always tell you:"The anc did this,the anc is so..." but they never focus on their solution for the country.

Before Cope,they always brag about being the leader of the opposition.That's all they will be and they know it.When Cope was born,too many cope headlines,so the DA "reborn themselves"...just to get some headlines too.Now they are talking about taking over the goverment in 2014...now that is what i call optimism.

All the da needs to do for a headline(or 2) is to say something bad about the ANC.They get their 5 secs of fame on the frontpage but they don't score any voters.

There is no DA party anymore,Zille becomes the DA.No one ever represent that party anymore other than her.Ask Patricia what happens with one face parties.

You also bring in this Botox thing.... I am still waiting for Sackboy to show me where in mainstream media this is used commonly to refer to Mrs Zille. I have a feeling that its just a little nickname that a small clique of people have developed and are trying to push it at every chance they get, and currently seem to be failing quite badly.

You also clearly have a very limited understanding of how long a rebranding process takes, its not something thats done in a few weeks... That rebranding of the DA was in the process of happening way before COPE was formed.

And if you think there is no party without Zille, you're sorely mistaken... I seem to remember people saying the same about Tony Leon and how the party would shrivel and die without him.. and well its become even bigger and better under Zille, and I can guarantee you there are other candidates in the party that are as good as her. I actually know of at least one councilor in the Durban area that is just as good as she is.

I'm not sure what your problem with Botox is.I'll call her what i want using the same freedom many mybb users use to call other politicians much worse names.

Never try and sell yourself by telling me how bad the other guy is.
 
What is your basis for insulting a person like Helen Zille? If your biggest complaint against her is that she used Botox, I don't honestly see that as such a problem, if its a problem at all.

Of course it was a "publicity stunt", why else would they rebrand themselves? It was an exercise that was undertaken WAY before COPE was even being thought of in public circles.

Its not my party in the slightest, I will vote for them where I feel they'll do the most good.

So does your advice to the DA extend to all the other parties who are doing exactly the same thing? hmmm?
 
and very possibly KZN as well.... the ANC have been causing chaos here, and at grassroots they're not very liked atm.

Thanks for the honesty.:D The DA could use rebranding to reposition themself in the political arena,but instead they are hunger for publicity that does nothing for them.Clueless.
