Dashboard Cameras

What do you mean functions?
Tell me how did you mount it on the dash, I would not like to use a glue like residue on mine
I didnt know it had the following dash camera functions:
Loop recording
Flip video recording for when cam is positioned upside down.
Auto start and stop recording when car is turned off and on.

I used the supplied handlebar clamp, it fits around my rearview mirror arm. There are two other brackets, one which you can strap down and another that you can stick down with supplied double sided glue discs.

Have a look at the guzzle advert at the second accessory.

Can you perhaps upload video footage at all...? I had a look on youtube and the quality didn't look all that great to be honest. Can you make out number plates in playback...?

Ill upload some tomorrow. You can make out numbers plates right in front of you but not going the opposite direction.

I dont think any of the cameras can do that anyway besides maybe a R4000 camera like Gopro

I think even the gopro will struggle with oncoming traffic. The quality of the actual footage is great its just a bit big to upload. Using h.264 a 3 minute clip is 270mb in 1080p 30fps. Its a good thing you get a free class 10 8gb sd card with the camera.

Thanks Jakes. Quality of uploaded videos is always an issue in any case. If you say you can see then that's already an improvement over my current one.

Is there a setting to lower the file size?

Thats insane, the unit would only be great for short bursts otherwise

You should be able to record just under 90minutes at fhd on the 8gb card. The camera can take up to a 32gb card.

Yeah just buy a 32gb card and be done with it. No point in not using the FHD function.

You see this 32GB (apparently) hard limit everywhere and I suspect it's as simple as a formatting requirement (or at least worth checking out). Basically it's about FAT32 vs exFAT and, as we all know, *nothing* (without appropriate licencing from MSFT) gets to read exFAT so, given that there are tools that let you override default settings, who's able to take a 64GB and munge FAT32 onto it?

The disk utility on a Mac can format bigger fat32 partitions so any one with a Mac and a 64 SD can do that and test it.
