Data Connection Freezes on 3Gs

Recently my 3Gs data connection has started locking up - most often during the night. In the morning if I try and check my mail or surf the net the data connection shows connection (EDGE or 3G) but no data works. I either have to restart the device or go into settings and switch off 3G and switch it on again (resets data connection). Once that's done all is good for most of the day.
As a result of this my battery life is severly diminished as i get my mail via Push so the phone is trying to connect to our exchange server all through the night to retrieve mail.

I am hoping it's a problem with the 3.1.3 OS and that OS 4.0 will sort it out. I never had this problem on OS 3.0.

Anyone else experiencing the same issues?

yes , i have the same issue.. what APN settings are you using? switch 3G off/on is a bit anoying..

I have noticed the same thing here too - I have been meaning to go into the MTN offices to see what the problem is, but have not got round to it yet. I have had this problem for around 2 months now on MTN, I don't seem to get this on my Vodacom account.
