This may have been asked here before, but I need some clarification.
What is the difference between the data packages they're selling, for example 8ta's 3GB bundle, and the data used on my cellphone or tablet.

Scenario:
I have a Samsung Tablet, which allows you to use the phone function. But in order for me to use the 3GB data package from 8ta, I have to have my sim card converted into a data-only card and sacrifice the phone capabilities, or keep it and end up paying higher data prices. I do not understand why this has to happen.

Can somebody please clarify the difference between the data and why there is this price differences?

There is no difference, it's just easier for them to track and bill accordingly

If you mean the 2+1GB 8.ta bundle, you just have to switch to the 8.ta only plan (meaning you won't be able to use it while roaming on MTN). You can still make phone calls and send SMSs.

Hi There,
Basically it is a marketing and packaging issue.
I appreciate it is convenient to have the phone and data option but you will have to either accept to pay more and use the phone capability or get a sim just for data. At the moment I think Cell C has the cheapest per MB data bundles but I may be wrong as I have not looked at prices lately

Regards

Tim
