Date over power, aka Homeplug

Has anyone used these homeplugs like what Miro is selling:

or anything similar?

How good are they and how many are you using in one network?
We're looking at putting about 8 of them in one network, but for something I've never used or heard anyone else uses, I'm not so keen spending so much cash on it.

yeah, used it on small network where the walls were so thick wireless was useless...u got same problem?

I have used the netgear ones... some issues - all plugs must be on the same circuit for "optimal" setup, and if the plugs are on a different DB board it wont work correctly, if the plugs are on a different earth leakage it wont work correctly, if you are using surge plugs it wont work correctly.

so basically if you go from one office to another one, and its on the same DB board, and pref on the same breaker, it will work fine. As soon as you start working on a different circuit its really unreliable!

Rather just run Wireless N+ MIMO with another Access Point on the other side of the house connected via ethernet.
