Datsun is back!

Are they taking left over parts from other car manufacturers to slap this together?

That front grill reminds me of Audi/BMW/Merc
It's hind looks like it came from an Opel
The interior - did they discover an inventory cache from the 1980s?

And is that a wing on the back? Must be a monster of an engine if it needs down force.

Frankenstein's monster?

On a more serious note, who are they targeting/who's their rival car manufacturer (make & model)?

R110k for that?

Thats almost as bad value as that Honda Brio POS.

I would say
FAW V2
Suzuki Alto
Chevrolet Spark
Tata Indica
Renault Sandero

looks like an Audi that got squished in a vice,
but once they appear in SA it will sell and sell well, just look at that Etios, it says Toyota so buy it.

people dont really care about how it looks, it says datsun and all the old tannies will buy one.....

but seriously, why so much hate for the brio? looks the most decent of all the sub 150K cars

Drive one..

They're HORRIBLE.. Its been a long time since I've driven a new car that is so rubbish...The steering is vague, the gearbox is wishywashy, the brakes are nowhere near sharp enough.... The motor isn't great either, it felt very underpowered

Ugly as  . These should be cheap cheap and economic

Think I might've thrown up in my mouth a little. And people complain about the Vivo... :erm:

I can't think of any justification for buying any of the lowest tier vehicles we're being flooded with; they're all objectively horrible. Horrible to look at. Horrible to drive. Horrible 'dynamics', if one can call it that. Horrible to even consider having a prang in. I understand that corporate buyers - rental agencies and such - have to have of the cheapest vehicles available from new, but as a private buyer there's no reason not to buy something better. Either stretch your budget a bit, or buy a newish 2nd-hand car, even if it's been through someone like AVIS' hands. These things are just awful.

If R110k is the correct price it's too much IMO.

Should have an "introductory" price of ~ R85k & then fixed price of ~R90k for the base model.
