Gratz on the install. Exciting times for you. I still have to start the process with CoCT and register my installation. Just been a bit hectic on my end with studies. Will update this thread on how that goes, once I start.
Here is what that looks like at the moment. I am still playing around with the SOC values. Need to dial them in now that I have the second battery. I want to move that 100% to slot 4 as my solar output drops from 16:00 onwards. Would be nice to be at 100% exiting slot 4.Interested to see your two system mode pages

Out of interest, on system mode 2 - some guys have ticked "solar export" to use the excess solar to power non-essentials.
On your settings, assuming it only uses PV for battery and running essentials?
As I understand it, enabling "solar export" allows you to export to the grid. It goes hand in hand with the "inverter power limiter" setting. That setting can be used to limit how much you export to the grid. I do not want to export to the grid and thus I keep "solar export" disabled. What enables powering non-essentials with PV would be the "zero export" setting. So yes, I do power my non-essentials from the PV.

@RonSwanson - our previous chats on this - amazing to see that this setting can be achieved by ticking a number of the options on this page.
Wonder if it's a fault in their coding on the interface?

It's the solar police phase. Once you get the family to learn and your schedule optimised, you start checking less.
I only check now if the weather is bad, so I know what needs to be done to make sure the batteries are 100% by night time...

Ja, it's not a fault as such, just poor labeling of the tickboxes. Takes getting used to, just like the System Mode timer. Mastery in 3-5 days.

Just a thought, in my mind (still waiting for my panels to come) would it not be better to eek out as much sunshine as possible and have the grid top it up a 4pm if needed for instance?
Or are you scheduled for loadshedding then?
I have good solar output between 13:00 and 16:00. After that it starts dropping quickly as there is a large tree northwest of my property. Thus, my batteries are pretty much at 100% at the end of that slot and ready for use during the night. The grid charge will only kick in during that slot if the solar output is very low. I have yet to see that happen as it's been very sunny here.

@DawieZA did your installer give a report on the condition of your roof truss spacing + roof batten spacing and ability of your roof to carry a certain load?
Reading about insurers causing kak when your install isn't 100% correct. My 250l solar geyser was replaced last year October, covered & arranged by my building insurance, and I have never seen a report on the state of the roof trusses etc in my life from the installers nor the insurance. Just wondering whether it's necessary for solar installers to provide a report on roof condition?

Unfortunately, not. They basically moved the tiles out of the way to screw the brackets to the roof battens and moved the tiles back in place. I then contacted my insurance after the install. They noted in my policy that I have solar and upped the value of my house under building insurance to cover the value of the kit installed.
probably 50% kak installations and 50% opportunity
