DB9 - DB9 console cable?

Sorry to have to ask this but I'm pretty confused now :eek:

The switch I bough seems to work on a different console cable to the one I am using for the Cisco routers :confused:

The Router cable is a DB9 - RJ45. DB9(PC) - RJ45(Router)

Now the Switch seems to use a DB9(Switch) - DB9(PC)

Is this right?

BTW: I know it should be a rollover cable :p Just incase someone tries to be smart :p But is there a rollover cable with DB9/DB9?

Hi,

I had the same problem until now. Fortunatelly I'we found somewhere the original cable and I was able to communicate with the switch. Finally I pick up my multimeter and checked the cable itself. The cable is not a null modem cable or a full serial cable. It is a straigth DB9F - DB9F cable, so the pin assignment the following:
1 - 1
2 - 2
3 - 3
4 - 4
5 - 5
6 - 6
7 - 7
8 - 8
9 - 9
G - G
