Just check the multiplayer servers on DCS World, normally the lowest ping(about 90 ms) will be South African.

Servers to check for: -=SAAF=-
VSAAF

Hope to see you soon!

Midnight, if you make the race 10 laps, let me know, so I can get outta the way of the nuts and bolts dislodging themselves from your engine :D
djshadowfax, a few of us are old IL2 crew around here, where did you fly?
Skype is a good start.

I used to/fly "Skies of Valor" as i liked the full pit, realistic settings. Still allowed lock and ext views though.
Going to take me forever to learn the armament management here and all the jet settings.
I guess my tried and tested "Spray and Pray" tactics wont work here.. :(

No worries man.
It's all very much a team effort up there. Spotting, handing over targets, accepting targets for attack, keeping eye out for nasty launches, etc.
Main thing is just learn how to ramp start the Hog.
Once you have done it a few times and understand the sequence required it takes about 5-8 minutes or so to get it ready to fly and correctly configured. The process helps as well in learning what switches you are flicking and why.

The rest of the systems you learn as you go along. Easiest (apart from the gun) and most stand-off weapon are the Mavericks, which are pretty simple to use, and with that you can participate quite effectively.

Others in the game can direct you and keep you relatively safe (if you don't stray into a hot SAM/AA area)
Literally learning on the fly ;)
We cracked out a good 4 or 5 hours yesterday.

We just need to run joint maps then that cater for A-10'/SU25's on the flight line is all.

Hey djshadowfax,

The hog will be well worth your while to get. Very high fidelity!

How much is she?

Also im pulling my hair out in a quick mission , its me in a SU-25T and enemy in A-10. All we have are IR rockets and i change to air mode (6). Get lock(target authorized) and fire(space and i mapped fire on jstick) but nothing.....

Not sure how that thing works but its doesnt look to complex, assuming you have mapped your key/stick correctly?
So you get 'LA' symbology in the hud?

from the manual for R-73 / R-60 Air to Air missiles.

To deploy a weapon, the pilot needs to execute the following steps:
 Detect the target
 Lock or designate the target
 Deploy weapon
Air-to-Air Weapons
R-73 and R-60 short range missiles
The Su-25T can carry the R-73 and R-60 short range air-to-air missiles in the longitudinal aiming mode. When this mode is activated, the missile’s seeker has a scan zone of 2 degrees that is directed forward along the aircraft’s longitudinal axis. The target must enter this seeker field of view, which is represented by the center of the aircraft symbol on the HUD, to automatically lock the target.
The target lock and launch procedures consist of the following steps:
Step 1
Select air-to-air mode with the [6] key. In either case, longitudinal aiming mode will be activated.
Step 2
Maneuver your aircraft to place the center of the HUD aircraft symbol over the target. When the missile seeker is in lock range, the aiming will jump to the target; the yellow launch authorized lamp will flash; and a lock audio signal will sound. The lock range depends greatly on the target’s IR-signature. The maximum signature for an aircraft is when flying at high-altitude, at full AB, and you are in the target’s rear-hemisphere. Note that helicopters have minimal IR signatures and they may be difficult to acquire. When the missile seeker achieves a lock and the "LA" message is displayed on the HUD, this is only an indication that the target has been locked; it does not mean that the target is within range of the missile. Launching a missile too early may lead to a miss because the missile has insufficient energy to intercept the target. It is recommended that you do not launch until the target’s shape is visible or 2 km.
Step 3
Press the trigger on your joystick or press the [Space] key to launch the missile. The missile is "fire and forget" and requires no additional support from the launch aircraft.

Manual is located by default in this folder just in case you may of missed it.
Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\aircrafts\Su-25T\Doc

If that doesn't work post a screeny of your SU25 control options page showing the key mapping

Is this just the default std air to air quick mission? I will give it a whirl this evening.

I haven't flown this thing in years so don't know the right procedure and also excuse me if I am stating the obvious in trying to trouble shoot.

If the right weapons are onboard, the plane is configured in the right mode (A2A), the correct weapon is selected in the panel, and you have LA, it should fly off the rail.

I cant seem to post a picture and in it you will see that everything including the LA code is visable on the HUD

Dj, you have skype? We have a DCS chat now and may be worth dropping in there. I can edit an SU-25 slot into some of the missions we fly if you like until you have thr A-10.

Edit: btw, the one you just posted now showed up. But now it's gone.
