yes, but how do I get it to those lazy SAPO customs people in Kempton Park?

I normally get a bad copy (as attached) in the mail and then have to contact them

The customs declaration is always on the outside of the packaging detailing the contents and value (which dx usually makes smaller).
This is what they need to determine the value.
Now maybe they opened the packaging and some clever official noticed a discrepancy so they now want a proper invoice.

Never happened to me though and I've ordered more that 20 time from dx

so after 6 weeks, the cretins at Kempton have now released my package..... what a wonderful world we live in

I use http://www.miniinthebox.com/

My last order was placed on 17 July and I collected it today. Landed up at Milnerton post office on the 1st of August. So about 2 weeks from order to delivery. This is the fastest the delivery has been - usually 4 - 6 weeks.

I've also ordered from miniinthebox before and delivery was much faster - I think it was because they stuck the invoice onto the package, so customs just added VAT and handling fee and went straight to my post office

Order totally $100 + expedited shipping. Processing the items took long but once shipped via DHL, took 4 days and was at my door.

No taxes, yay.

I'll be doing that in future, thanks

Have never used expedited, but have received in about 2 months usually. Not sure what the SARS customs situation will be with expedited.

Have never used them before, but I just paid for my first item from them. The item was marked down 34%, supposedly as part of 'April Funny Month', don't know if they alway have some or other 'funny' discount and if it is something special.

ok, going back in the thread it seems they attempt postal delivery, I specified a street address without the expedite option, will they try to use postal delivery ?

They won't try. It will be the only option.

Use the SAPO app to track with, it will update once it gets scanned in South Africa.

Thanks.

I have closed my postbox at the post office itself, we do however have street delivery for the flat where I live, will this be a case of receiving the note in my postbox at the flat and then fetching the parcel from the post office itself ? Previously I have always received such notes from the post office in my postbox at the postoffice itself, I have no idea if a not will actually be delivered to me at the postbox at the flat seeing I don't pay for a postal service as such.

Usually they deliver the note yeah.

But that's why I mentioned the App as it's often way ahead of the note.

Sometimes I never get the first note and only the second one. Convinced they never sent it in the first place.

same here - I never bother about the note from PO, I just make sure I get a tracking number and then collect from PO when tracking says it's there

Just to be sure, the tracking number provided by dx will be the same used by the post office ? (for the purpose of being notified via 'TrackMyParcel').

EDIT: The format does seem to be as expected according to the email I received to confirm notification enable.
