Death Penalty

Say what? Not sure how you came to these conclusions from his post!? None of what you claim is even insinuated in daveza's post.

Go read it again. I highlighted the portion he refers too that have bearing on this thread and on what I said. If you still do not understand my logic I will attempt to explain a bit more.

You are quite right - maybe you are seeing what some of us see about the Panelvan's methods of debate.

Unfortunately if you have a gripe about the lack of understanding what you read then I am sure only you can address that. That point was clear and above board and have no bearing on the gripe you have in another thread you now are trying hard to transfer here to this thread. Maybe you should troll somewhere else. The ANC has a forum specifically for that.

I rather for the benefit of heir

I will rather explain. In one post it is claimed that the Death penalty do not deter the crime of murder and actually increases it. Now in another there is an example used which could proof the contrary. In sharia states you hands get cut of when you steal, You get killed (stoned) when you murder etc. Now I was alluding that the claim re the point of capital punishment increasing murders and not reducing murders would naturally then apply here too where the crime of theft and murders should be on the rise. Are they? was my question.

But unfortunately JBFRobisher did not know what was discussed as he did not read the thread so then that means he was trolling to bring my point of view in dispute.

Hmmm... from the whole post one line is taken which was a point about retribution.

Nowhere did I advocate sharia law, neither did I state that capital punishment increases the crime rate.

I did however refer to an article which confirms the possibility that instead of being a deterrent, the death penalty may actually have an upward trend on the capital crime rate .

I am however looking forward to the independant stats supporting the concept that the death penalty is in fact a deterrent.
