I know alot of guys on this forum are for the death penalty. As am I.

I was wondering that if the DP was to be reinstated, which would be the most effective form?(hypothetically of course as our constitution is against the DP)

I know of the following:

1. Hanging
2. Electric chair (no eskom jokes please:)i can think of enough of these)
3. Lethal Inj
4. Gas
5. Firing squad

In my opinion a firing squad would be ideal, it would scare criminals and the chances of a botch up would be small, given trained 'executioners' do the deed.

I find the gas chamber inhuman and disturbing, lethal inj is alot of admin.
Hanging and the elec chair seem decent options.

What do you guys think?

I apologise if this has been covered before.

I was a dirty murderer and was to be put to death I reckon lethal inj would be my option. The *****'s way out :D

Thou shalt not kill.
Lets suppose the death penalty comes back.
And also let's suppose an innocent person gets executed.

Wouldn't you feel guilty?

Lets suppose it was you?

I wont feel guilty.Accidents can happen,rarely.

You prob have a better chance of being hit and killed by a falling piece of toilet paper than going on death row and being executed whilst being innocent, although it has happened.

55 Murders a day on average. Do guilty people get murdered?
Let's suppose aliens land tomorrow or that world peace can be achieved by taking a tablet every morning.

I can tell you this, with the death penalty ALOT less innocent people would be slaughtered everyday. You give me an easy option in your argument, I would take the lessor of both evils; THE DEATH PENALTY!

Guillotine
Thrown to sharks
Dropped down a mineshaft

:D

Depending on the crime committed, and the circumstances, the victim or their family should get to choose, if they wish.

Personally, I suggest:
Murder (single) - lethal injection
Terrorism / traitor / corrupt politician: Bullet to the head - single shot, pistol.
Genocide / mass murder / serial killer - public hanging

Lethal injection.
Sounds great if it works as advertised.

However, the 2nd ingredient can negate the effects of the anaesthesia, and because it's a paralytic the person executed can be in excruciating pain while also being totally paralysed.

Doesn't sound very humane to me...

use the 'Search' function on myADSL.. this topic has been beaten to death MANY TIMES over

"Man rapes and kills woman in the morning, Man hanged in the afternoon"

Eish, must be hard living with it. At least you can blame it on someone else, and rightfully so.

It was my decision.
No way you could blame it on someone else.
I should have become a consientious objector.( spelling? )
We had the choice.

If you have no respect for human life then you have no right to respect for your right to life (at the taxpayers expense nogal) so I support the death penalty in any shape or form
