 Who the **** drops over a grand on a bloody mouse? You okes earn way to much money
For something I use 8-10 hours every day, I think I can spend R1k for the 4/5 years this will last (or ~R20/month average in help for productivity).

EDIT:
Same thing with keyboard, was R2.5k.
Same thing with laptop, was R25k.
Same thing with external monitor, was R9k.
Etc. and all of them make me a bit more productive, slower laptop would take longer to compile, worse keyboard would give finger fatigue quicker and would type a bit slower, monitor is eye strain and higher resolution and size means I see more code at one time so easier to keep overview, etc.

And all of lasting for years.
And since leaving, sold the monitor now for R7k, so R2k for about a year worth of use, or R150/month, not really a problem for me.

And no, don't drink or smoke, so that's probably a lot of saving compared to you, electronics are my vice. :p

My beige Microsoft mouse I bought in 2003 and it still works 100%. Only reason I bought it then was because there was 1 scene in Medal of Honour Allied Assault that I just couldn't get through as it was too hectic for my mouse with a ball to handle. I had to go high tech and get a balless mouse, wow what a difference it made, and I am still gaming on it today

I am starting to believe in the wireless. My roccat is now dying because the cable where it goes into the mouse is getting wonky. It only works at a certain angle.

I also need a new mouse, only because my incompetent arse thought I could disassemble clean and then reassemble than tiny 4mm spring plate that operates the switch, was a 7 button China special I bought in 2007

Going to see what wireless options are available, the cheaper the better.

Thats a 400dpi mouse...

I still have my 800dpi original Logitech MX 500 and it doesn't do so well at 1080p. I can't imagine using a 400dpi mouse.

As for spending R1500 on a mouse... I have a G502 hero which is great for gaming, but the scroll wheel and the horizontal scroll is just OK. Since my wife appropriated my original Logitech MX Master, I bought an MX Master 3. Best. Work. Mouse. Ever.
Yes, it is worth it having and using 2 x R1000+ mice.

Seriously, those that have some spare cash, are curious and sit in front of a PC for 8 hours a day. Spend the money, buy an MX Master 3 and see for yourself.

Edit: As for my gaming mouse recommendation. Razer Deathadder was good, the scroll wheel is just not that accurate and feels funny.
I had a Logitech G403, and the scroll wheel broke. It would first go in the wrong direction, before going in the right direction.
G502 is great, but I think I preferred the feel of the 403.
The layout of the 502's buttons is better, though, and I sometimes use the DPI switching in games. Especially at higher resolutions the ideal fps mouse sensitivity and ideal menu sensitivity is very different, so I have to switch in menus.

Not a single review
No one has been mad enough to buy one
Uhmm....maybe those of us who bought one are just too embarrassed to admit it in a review...

Anyway, yes it is a ridiculous amount to spend on a mouse but I thought that with the amount of time I spend on a pc it's not that much. That being said it's a bloody awesome mouse, whether it's worth another R1500 over a R1000 mouse, probably not.

Back in my day when Windows came out the reason they included Solitaire for free was to teach you how to use a mouse.
It taught you to single click, double click, drag and drop etc
Very clever of them

And some other trivia, when @Gordon_R finished matric the original mouse had just come out
And it wasn't called a mouse, it was called a X-Y Position Indicator for a Display System

First computer mouse.

And here is a photo of Gordy's mate that invented it
