Decent media box?

There is no decent Android media box. They all suck. I have the Mi Box and Lit Box. I have non-stop unexplainable playback issues which I never had before. Spend and invest in a proper media center PC.

Strange my device has no issues whatsoever i use it to stream from my media centre wirelessly on the network
Thats what i am looking for

Nvidia Shield is the best. Unanimously. Frequent updates as well.
 
Most people happy with the LIT box or Mi box. Google certified, so most apps work
 
I have playback errors on Kodi and other media player apps with constant video stutter and passthrough audio errors. I have these problems on both my Mi and Lit. I even had Netflix constantly crashing before needing to restart, and the remote stopped working on the Mi Box.
 
Latest firmware on LIT box includes Netflix and brings it up to date on Android. Happy with it.

I ended up with a entry level Intel NUC as a media PC, so much better than the android ones with their issues.

May I ask why you are still using Kodi? What do you watch on there that you cannot on other apps? Kodi is not high up on the list of supported apps of these Android boxes, so you can hardly blame them if Kodi gives you problems....

Just for my own benefit ..... What can i download from playstore to replace Kodi ? (Yes, i'm not a tech guy)

I use it for its easy to navigate menus and appealing interface. The Windows version of Kodi has many many more settings and encoders. I also use SPMC which is a 3rd party Kodi for Android that has a few more settings available. When Kodi and SPMC fails I use Archos, and even with that I have many issues. What would you suggest?

I use Kodi daily on my MiBox. Have zero issues

Depends on your usage. I need my box to output at 4k 60Hz resolution without jitter and proper audio passthrough to my amp. Mine fails on both counts in Kodi. On my bedroom TV which is only 1080p with no passthrough the boxes work as they should.
