Deep sigh...looking for work (Communications)

I cant believe I am doing this but if you don’t ask, you’ll never know.

Anyway guys, I am looking for a new job in Gauteng. Yes, I know this isn’t a “jobs board” but I figured maybe, just maybe, someone here can help, as I’ve seen the MyBB community pull together before where one of the flock needs help.

I don’t want to go into too much detail but I am a Communications Specialist & Practitioner with 4+ years experience. If anyone knows of positions anywhere or require someone of my profession, may I please ask that you drop me a pm? It will be tremendously appreciated!!

I've have spent 5+ years with large corporates where I was tasked with drafting and implementing the annual communications strategy and plan for communications for internal use, with demographics of 30 000+ employees and contractors across multiple Divisions. In addition I led a number of focus groups and established a center of excellence, tasked to disseminate the tangible communication tools further into their respective projects and business unites nationwide, while providing me with regular feedback for consolidation into monthly reports to the Division’s General Manager and other stakeholders.

My duties and responsibilities further extended to website administration; research; offering assistance to other departments where required; Divisional Sharepoint custodian; document control; copywriting; strategy and policy development, implementation, and review; implementation of ISO 9001, 140001 and OHSAS 18001; data capturing and statistical analysis; training development and facilitation; event management; development of keynote addresses in consultation with Senior Management; project management; copywriting and vendor – and commercial process management.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is a Communications Specialist?
 
Things like looking for a work, especially via a forum you often visit and comment on etc is tough... I'd probably also create a new account and ask, I wouldn't want people to think funny of me or look down on me... It's rough out there.

At the end of the day, we all just need to come together and help each other, in everything - obviously, I'm probably sounding like I live in a perfect world, but reality is, every small bit helps in the bigger scheme of things.

Entirely agree which is why I asked for more information. Like you said, you never can tell who might be reading. The more you know about the lad's aptitude and preference the easier it would be for him to land something.

I agree. But they could just have said as much. Like "Hey regular member don't want to give my name away" or something. Maybe that would have caused unnecessary fuss.

I still don't really know what your skillset is and what exactly the job entails. Often when I hear about jobs I don't hear 'we need a corporate communications person' but rather I hear a description of the job and the skills required.

I'm not going to go google 'corporate communications'. I think if you took the time to just write out a little more than a single sentence detailing the job / your skillset it might be easier for someone to help you find what you're looking for. The benefit of an alt account is you can get everything out on the table :).
