I had actually come across that and wanted to see what JS would come up with, admittedly I haven't done much digging so was more curious than anything.

I'd be interested to see some stats if you've got? Would make an interesting study on wealth handover and the barrier to entry if you're not already part of the elite.

Piketty referenced the raw data. And even there, the gap is understood to be far bigger than thought as a lot of wealth is not public knowledge

That just lists public assets (Share listing etc). Mostly made up of the nouveau riche.
Same way people only know of Anton Rupert, Nicky Openheimer and Ramaphosa in SA. They are far from being the only billionaires in SA. I personally know 5 more whose names are never listed in any newspaper or magazine

I've tried all my life to act like a true Gentleman although my conduct on this forum is at times a bit trollish. I have succeeded in acquiring the relevant skillsets and acheived my learning outcomes timeously. This leads to wealth through meeting and pleasing the proper like-minded people.

That being said, the poor are just poor in knowledge in my opinion. I grew up in poverty but did not let that dictate my life or place limitations on myself with the mentality of flourishing the begging bowl and claiming past injustices did me in. Most of the super rich are that for a simple reason - it is what they really wanted and they got it through years of dedication and hard work.

Otherwise there is an opportunity cost in anything and everything you do
