Is anybody else having problems updating their antivirus lately? iv noticed it on 6 clients machines using ad aware and avg..

AVG has given me some error twice in the last few weeks - something like it can't install an update and needs to be reinstalled.

Zone Alarm Security Suite is behaving impeccably.

My Avast U3 version picked up a trojan on a Norton 'protected' system during it's automatic scan

Anyway NOD32 updates perfectly. So far the culprit seems to be AVG.

Yes I am both on the same PC, and yes I know of all the possible repercussions of using more than one on the same system

I recently moved over to eSet Smart Security, I was previously using PC Cillin, I picked up around 10 infected files that pc cillin ignored.

Any good AV system should offer a free trial period. Zone Alarm offers a 15 day free period, all fully working.

You cant update the old Ad-Aware anymore...You need to download the latest Ad-Aware 2007...I think this is a sh*t version, so what i have done is managed to get a direct link to the updates for my old ad-aware...here is the link if you want...Just replace the old defs.ref with this

I had an issue with Symantec LiveUpdate failing to download definitions for our school's (my work) Corporate Edition v9 for a long long time now. I tried it at my old high school where I sometimes help out and it wasn't working there either. Ruled out it being our adsl, as they are on iBurst. It is some error with the Symantec servers.

Eventually I just gave up and decided to download them manually. On top of things Symantec are cutting support for this version end of July

I don't like the Norton range, but the CE has worked very well for our school especially on our older pc's
