Defy Tumble Dryer Installation

If you came here to MyBB looking for professional advice I have some bad news for you

I have one of those. Very flimsy product. The door filter keeps coming loose despite the whole door and filter been replaced under warranty. The door hinges are the thinnest plastic they could get away with and have broken just out of warranty. Your money, but I'll advise against it.

Hi

I am looking to purchase the Defy 5kg Air Vented Dryer
Does anyone own these dryers who can tell me what's the installation process?

Does it need an actual vent that goes outside the house?
It vents though the front.

Just realised I got mine twenty years ago. :o

Not sure about defy, but I have a big Whirpool tumble dryer. It has a 110mm vent at the back. Using 110mm core bit, I drilled out a 110mm hole, bought a vent cover that opens using the wind of the tumble dryer.

No issues. Move in the house in 2017.

I was trying to tell him, if he has a big hole vent, it needs to be vented.
You can tell by the door. The one the OP linked to is the one on the left. The ones with a solid door, vent from the back.

So this one vents from the back and needs an opening to the outside world?
