One of my friends recently signed the 3 year contract for a Dell D630 and 500MB per month. They where told that the pricing (for data portion) would always stay the same, even if data prices drop. That cannot be. I am sure that when Vodacom recently dropped data prices, that contract subscribers also got relief?

They where also told that you cannot purchase extra bundles after the 500GB was depleted. That cant be true either?

I agree, that sounds like hogwash to me, sounds like the person had no idea what they were talking about - unless this is a non-VSP service provider like NM etc that don't bother to reduce their pricing when Vodacom reduces pricing.

Please ask your friend exactly which company & branch it was that told your friend all this.

Vodacom Shop (not sure if it is connect or 4U or something)
Strand
Dorpsmeent (Pick n Pay)
That's a bit vague - any chance you could get the exact details? - not all shops using Vodacom's branding actually belong to Vodacom, so it is important to know if this particular shop is linked to VSP or not from the price reduction POV.

The shop is called Connections there in the Dorpsmeent. Its a Vodacom Approved Dealer.

Ok but does it resell for VSP or some other service provider?

VSP. When you walk past the shop its got Vodacom banners and stuff all over the place. It almost looks like a Vodashop, with the same setup and stuff. So i'm not really sure.

I'm on a brand new 3 year contract and I've just loaded another ad-hoc 500MB bundle for Dec after all the flippen Vista (and other software updates) ate the first 500MB. On Vodacom4me there is nothing that prevented me from loading more ad-hoc data. One cannot however bolt-on more data it seems (on the Vodacom4me website), but I'm sure it can be done in-shop or over the phone.

I can appreciate that the first 500 MB for R249 will remain constant. Considering one gets a R16k+ laptop for under R11k on this contract over three years (at zero interest) I feel it would be unfair to complain if the R249 for 500 MB doesn't come down.
