Dell notebook parts...anyone?

Hi,

Is there anyone here with connections to Dell notebook parts?

A while back I had a friend spill milk all over her notebook.

I got hold of it and subsequently stripped it, cleaned it and rebuilt it.

However, the keypad is still a little sketchy.

The one key is damaged (prior issue) and some of the keys do not work now.

Other than that this thing still works fine. I can use an external keyboard if needs be.

The notebook has since been replaced but if I can sort out the keypad I have a useable notebook for myself.

I'm not sure whether it's the circuitry or the keys which are damaged.

Is there anyone who can source the necessary parts or fix them at a reasonable cost?

If I send it in to Dell I may as well buy a new notebook - looking at costs.

This is an old notebook - 2004 Inspiron 5150.

Looks as if they are available for less than USD20.

Before I go that route, is there anyone local perhaps? Saves a lot of hassle.

I've ordered a lot of notebook parts on eBay over the last few years. No trouble so far.

But try to get them to send it by registered mail, much safer.
