Isn't there any Dentists that charge more reasonable? Some of them just charge crazy prices. Medicross centres maybe?

Hmmm, I think this might be an isolated thing, but the medicross by me had the worst dentist on earth!

Maybe give the dentist a cow?

Oh, and is it for a routine check up, or is something wrong?
 
I broke two of my teeth, quote to do a proper fix R 25000. Medical aid does not cover it so I will just sit with two broken teeth for now

I found out Discovery doesnt pay for dentistry at all!!! On any of their packages!!! What a waste.

As for the thread title.
A friend went to the dentist and the dentist insisted on a ceramic thingy but it was R8000, so she opted for the other option which was R4000 he didnt want to do it, then she said she would go somewhere else then she agreed to do it, then it broke that same week. She went back and he said I told you not to take that option... so she did the ceramic thing.

He charged her (from her medical savings) R4000 + R1200 then another R8000 + R800... finished all of her R8000 medical savings and she had to pay the rest out of her pocket!!

I went to remove 4 wisdom teeth, Discovery paid for half I had to pay R6000 out of my pocket!!:mad:

All packages, you will have to pay from your medical savings.
 
At Tygerberg hospital, the Stellenbosch U students work on your teeth pretty much for free.
Find out if there is a thing like that near Benoni.

Tygerberg ones were pretty good, was there in the 90's though, so not sure about now.

Wtf? How is it medical aid if they don't cover dentistry? Worst of all, we need to have a medical aid or else... :(
 
I went to the medicross center in Randburg and i hated every second. The dentists are snobby, they couldn't give a **** about you, so they do quick fixes. I've had terrible service and dentistry twice now and will never go back.

Just becareful, go to a rich old dentist that wont take you for a ride. These new dentists are just greedy, he might tell you you need other stuff done...

hmmm... funny, the Medicross I went to had the same issues with it. Only the doctors are also snobbish.
 
Quite happy with my medicross dentist, which says something as I HATE dentists.

I am getting my wisdoms surgically removed in about 2 weeks @ a cost of around R12000. Medical Aid is covering all of it - just a fee of R500 to be paid by me.
