Depression.

Struggling to get off the sugar.. its sooooo good with cup of coffee!

If becomes easier if you cut down by a teaspoonful a week. I used to have 3 teaspoons in my coffee and now only have 1. You actually get so used to it ,that a cup of coffee with 3 teaspoons of sugar is too sweet.

You get used to it, try using a sweetner like xylitol or stevia plant extract thing you get. Or change your sugar from sucrose to fructose, slow change.

Mind Modifier glasses helps with depression, i used the mind modifier to quit smoking. It worked like a dream and i know there are settings on it for depression as well. It is just over 8000 rand i think, you can use it for addictions, sleep therapy, meditation, depression, consentration and to watch movies on so it is a very nice to have gadget. I have a number of the people i bought it from if anyone is interested in seeing what it is, it is rather cool they come to your house and show you the whole thing. Very awesome technology, works with brainwaves and visualizations like i said rather cool

Why would there be anti Cipralex posts?

not specifically anti cipralex but anti long term anti-depressants. when it was prescribed the doc said long term is no problem but the current doctor is subtley trying to get me off them. i bordered on depression for years and am loving my meds so not keen on stopping :-)

not often you find anyone saying "loving my meds" ... found it amusing

I think you'll find that just about anyone whose life has been saved/is free of depression/other psychiatric illnesses is probably going to sing the praises of the chemicals that helped them to achieve that.

usually they just moan on the price

Cipralex FTW!!

On 20mg now and my dissociative symptoms are fading. Also feeling much more assertive and less anxious

glad to hear it syrrano. that's exactly it - present physically but dissociated.

quick feedback, have you guys used cilift before switching to cipralex? if so how you feel about the difference between the two?

I've been on both and they were equally useless. Found a great combination with seroquel and lamictin. I am bipolar...

hmmm cilift and cipralex are SSRIs like prozac, used to treat mild depression. Proper bipolar people (not those that think they bipolar) require the stronger stuff :p

I know people who have used both, and they seem to be willing to pay the extra money for the Cipralex. I don't really understand the issue chemically, but aren't Citalopram and Escitalopram identical in their actions (although the dosage is double/halved)? They are stereo isomers of one another or something...

What is mild depression? I've been diagnosed with major depressive disorder, and there's nothing mild about this bull****. :D As far as I understand, antidepressants have very limited success when dealing with 'mild' (intermittent?) depression, and a much more marked effect when used to treat the dark horse of unfathomable horror that some of us have perched on our shoulders.

I'm taking Cilift, and it has verged on the miraculous, to be honest.
