Destiny - Anyone going to play?

I have a new method when it comes to games.

If it is being overhyped (pre-release) as the best thing since oxygen, I don't go near it for at least a year after release. I have been burnt every time I disobey my rule. Watchdogs being the most recent one. Hyped up, but delivered as shallow and rubbish.

Combine all that with the fact that it is a console shooter and I wont even give this game a passing nod.

Also feel that I was let down by Watch Dogs. Over Hyped - gameplay was lacklustre for me.
As a rule, I do not play play Shooters on consoles either.
 
Watched some game play trailers. Looks like Warframe (which is free) meets Borderlands.
Borderlands at least has humour and a storyline while I got bored of Warframe within a couple of hours.
I really don't understand the excitement around this game.

So based on your assumptions you have made a judgement?

Maybe give the game a few days for ppl to give valid opinions.

Not assumptions - watching a fair chunk of actual game play streams from people who bought the title. That, and a couple of decades of gaming experience. I'm not bad at quickly figuring out whether I will like a game or not.

Sure, I'm not debating that.
I also watched gameplay videos and came to a similar conclusion but you'll be surprised how a game can sometimes change your tune.

I agree. What I'm saying though is that I don't get what spurned all the hope. Other than it being prettier than most, I didn't see anything particularly new or interesting.
