Deus Ex

Just thought I'd say I'm enjoying this immensely. Definitely more sophisticated than recent bioware for sure.

Which is surprising given that its Square Enix. They've never really done it for me.

Skyrim will no doubt drain even more hours from my life, and it's arriving slap bang in the middle of my final exams. Totally not cool.
 
Hit 15 hours this morning on Dues Ex, considering I'm working and had weddings and other stuff over the weekend , that aint bad. Still got a way to go though.

Not looking forward to when it's finished, truly enthralling game.
 
I can't wait to finish this playthrough so I can crank up the difficulty and try a whole new approach! Multiple endings ftw :)
 
Got it last night at 22:40 - kalahari eventually came through!

Played it for a bit - did the first mission where you are still human. But I'm going to restart as I didnt enter the DLC code and I want to be able to do the Tong mission.

Looks good so far - just very difficult! As a human I was dying all the time, I suspect it was me being too gung ho though. Once I leaned I could aim down the barrel of the gun it was much easier.

It has the same feel as the first Deus Ex, or at least very similar.

If you wanna go the kill route, revolver=headshot=instant kill.

and WHAT DLC CODE?
 
Lol, in the preordered games, the dlc code is on a flyer behind your manual. At least, in the case of Xbox gamers.
 
Inside my game case is a DLC code for a tracer tong mission and a grenade launcher. Have a look inside your case. Mine was a pre order but Kalahari messed up (again!) so I didnt get the steelbook thingy. Anyway, I dont know if the DLC is a pre order thing, maybe it is.

EDIT: Ah then thats it, pre ordering. I'm on the PC version. Steam behaved itself last night.

Even better, the revolver with explosive ammo.

10mm pistol with the armour penetration mod can get an instant headshot kill on anyone too, and it can take a silencer.

Wife got up off the couch @ 12:45am this morning and asked why the f*** I didn't wake her up to go to bed ( fell asleep watching TV ). I replied I was kinda busy ( with Dues and the hacking mini game which she has come to recognise )

The look was kinda priceless but I bet the bedroom door slam pissed off the neighbours :D

I can relate :)
I tend to use my pistol ( damage mod, silencer and laser sight) a lot, I am mainly sneaky sneaky, and sort of take the bypass routes( adaptive), no stealth generator yet. However I still try eliminate easier to get to guys on teh way, a take down, drag back to a secluded spot and then a silenced bullet to the head to make sure they dont wake uo later if an alarm goes off :)

playing on hardest so its a biatch sometimes and i cant take more than about 2 shots if seen....sometimes its one shot im dead, so I am very careful on my play through

No Tong mission or weapons pack for you. Steam's pre-order incentive was to give you Deus Ex 1 GOTY. Pretty lame and you wouldn't be the first person to be disappointed by that.
 
i think the steam preorder was 10 000 credits, the silenced sniper rifle, and the doube barrel shotgun??
 
Right, I sneaked my way into see Barret without being seen in the FEMA camp.

Ok so he is harder than I thought. o.0

Tried twice but then went to bed. Tonight we Fight!
 
Finished the first augmented mission last night, the factory mission. I snuck in without killing anyone and talked Zeke down. I did choose the combat rifle - I hope I can get the revolver later though.

So far I'm enjoying it. I think its the RPG part of the game and the story that grabs me most. I also like the sci fi setting - it reminds me quite a lot of Ghost in The Shell sometimes. Which is definitely a good thing.
