So?

Is it all it's cracked up to be? If the Beta was any indication, I'd guess the answer would be a resounding YES! I picked up my copy yesterday but will only get to play this Friday for the first time (:cry:).

Ok, and all those who haven't slept yet, go do so! :D
 
It's good, I really like what thy have done with the scenery, it's 'painting like'.
 
Yes its was so much fun playing with the login screen :mad:
Cant tell you how the game went as thats as far as I got.

Sorry dude, I have to lol... Sucks to hear that though. Hopefully it settles down.
 
I only installed and played for a few hours last night. The installer hanged at 5% for about 40minutes and I was really stressing, then I heard my DVD drive spin up again and the installation continued. *phew*

In terms of gameplay --> awesome! Although some small part of me wished they did something more with the graphics. Its great, don't get me wrong, just think it could have been bit better.

I think this is the worst Blizzard launch in the history of the company. So many problems.
 
Bad start that's for sure. Could only get about an hour in last night, playing solo - coop and friendlist were borked.
 
Also had the whole error message thing. Then eventually logged in at about 10pm. Joined the EU servers and could play. Then, got the whole "you have been removed from the game" errors every 15min. Sigh.

I have to agree with IzZzy in terms of graphics. It could be stepped up a bit more. DX11 patch? lol. I mean, considering what Blizzard can do with their videos, second to none.....they could have put just a little bit more in the gameplay gfx. But yeah, overall a great game. Its been too long man.
 
I have managed to get up a few levels this morning. Feels very familiar yet sufficiently different to make it stand out from Diablo II. Graphics are very dark in Tristram though I have heard the next acts are much more visually attractive.

One complaint, I have no clue how the skills work. Do I just upgrade everything as it becomes available? Is it possible to hoard points for better things? Never played the beta so don't really have a feel for it.

I am enjoying it immensely for all of the 45mins that I have played :D

They implemented some bug fixes globally around 22:00 our time. A few minutes later I could login and play for the first time. I'm a level 12 barbarian now :D
 
I did a write up on my first hour in Diablo III (I got home early yesterday afternoon and managed to get some time in before things went pear shaped). If anyone is interested you can check out "My first hour on the road to Hell":

Update: It seems the title of this post is quite apt, since Blizzard clearly underestimated (maybe intentionally) the number of servers they would need for players. As a result, the service is congested, and a lot of people are currently unable to play. That’s right, you bought a single player game, and now you can’t play it. Yes, I’m a little pissed off right now.

I’m a pretty big fan of Diablo. I played and loved the first one, and pretty much became addicted to the second one. That was until one day when my hard drive crashed and I lost all my characters and items. Perhaps it was due to the trauma, but surprisingly I wasn’t that excited for Diablo III. In the end however, I still decided to buy it.

Played for 45 minutes at 12 last night kept on getting error messages across the board, even WOW was battling to login.
 
Ah yes, this is good news. Good gameplay is what we're looking for. I hope I can pick up the game some time next month and that the server problems will be a thing of the past by then.
 
The game is brilliant. I just beat The Skeleton King in Act I. Looking forward to getting my D3 starter edition upgraded to the normal edition next week. I need to get my exams out of the way first :(

I think they kept the graphics low to make it accessible to more people.
You wont need a beast machine to run it. I think thats great.
 
After a night of struggling with the installer I left for work with it 11% , here's hoping I have an installed d3 when I get home :)
 
My install went smoothly. Managed to log in at around 10pm, and then had around 4.5 hours of uninterrupted play time before I had to drag myself to sleep.

Enjoying it a lot so far. Combat feels really good. Besides the server issues, game play elements all seem to work well and it feels very polished, as you would expect from a Blizzard game.

The only problem I noticed was that Achievements did not seem to be working at all.
 
I bought the digital version, so the files were all downloaded and updated the night before (monday)

after 5pm the install was unlocked, so I went ahead with the install. Well I tried. When I accepted the EULA it gave me an error and booted me from the install :( I re-downloaded the "client download exe" from bnet, pointed it to my already "updated" folder. It whizzed through as it checked all the content.. stopped at about 95% and then downloaded another 100MB... I was like :wtf:

Guess it wasnt updated properly after all? After that was done, I could install no issues.

Was home a bit early yesterday, and I could login first time and my ping was stable green around 190ms. Every 5 min or so it would go to orange and jump to about 350ms but I wouldnt notice anything in the gameplay.

As the afternoon went on, and the rest of EU got home and logged in the ping began to increase and the jumps to 350/400ms became more and more frequent. I stopped playing at 7pm and went out.

When I got home at about 11pm I logged in first time. Now it was mostly orange but sometimes red with a lot of frequent lag spikes and it was quite noticeable in the gameplay. It wasnt the same quality that I was used to previously in the afternoon. I tried to add a friend using his bnet email... Gave me an error :confused: Not sure what the code was, but there was one.

My 24 hours :)
