In SA you just need the party nomination to get the presidency right?

ie: Zuma gets KZN nomination. others follow suit. Zuma becomes president.

The ANC will decide who the next president will be, and the one after that, and the one after that . . . . .

The Electoral college is a complicated mess and needs reform. It's only differed from the popular vote on four occasions.
