Dude?

Do you think in this life Nokia would use a live.com email account? Furthermore. Did you enter any competition with Nokia? No, then how could you win?

Please realize that this is 2009 and 419 scammers and phishers and all other evils in the world will tell you any tall tale to get you to do as they will.

Don't give into this and if you do, realize again that you were warned.

Nothing in life is free, nothing, everything has a price to it.

So next time you ask if you hit the Jackpot, don't.

When you have to spend a cent of your own money first you are being scammed period. Just googled it and saw some dumb british guy paid 1000GBP Sterling to these clowns. dumbass

Indeed. I've never heard of -any- competition that requires you to pay a "deposit" to get the prize. I mean come on, they give you money, why do they need you to pay money to get money?

Tell them to subtract it from your winnings :) Since you won R95k, they should know you're good for the R720, right?

That said, with MTN anything is possible, they'll charge you R720 to -enter- the competition, and then you're simply part of a rigged draw...not actually the winner...

Just one of 100's of pointless threads are started each day lately on this forum. I've seen guys that have been here for 2 years with more than 500 posts that actually ask what the difference between local and international bandwidth is. To mention something silly. They even ask whether you need to pay Telkom in order to have DSL, but yes, they've been a Master on the forum for ages?

Things are getting scary in this place, no offense to rpm, but our cumulative IQ is dropping rapidly.

Welll the forum title is
"Broadband & ADSL Forums - Internet, Gaming,Hardware, Software "

So it's not unlikely for someone who's into software to know nothing about ADSL. I mean i was on this forum for years and only internet connection i had was Vodacom 3G/GPRS , the intricacies of ADSL+Telkom totally eluded me until recently actually. I even remember why i joined this forum, it was when Sentech was getting a public hammering , when guys were doing speed-tests on the news proving Sentech's poor service and it was all happening here.

But on the other hand, i am aware alot of people only live in the "off-topic" part of this forum, which is like a facebook crowed talking about weight-loss,car insurance and their marriage problems...and that's all they do.

Thanks for expanding my standpoint. Fact remains. People start a new thread for every thought that pops into their minds. The guys that's been around the block always sit back and smile and answer over and over and over and over (should I go on?) and over again. It's getting old. Use search.

Shhh, We are hiding from stupid people;)

In our own country there's a company called Homemark that has a reputation for exactly this type of scam.

"Congratulations, you have won a remote control, inflatable bed, electric pineapple peeler... Contact Homemark to claim your prize. Postage and packaging to be paid.

You then have to pay more than the article's value to have it delivered, and no, you can't collect it...
