Difference between Downstorm and AeroVPS - Which one is better?

As the title states. Whats the difference and which one is better.

I haven't used AeroVPS yet (maybe I should give it a test try) ... but I've received great service with DownStorm. I'd think the best is to give both of them a try. I have noticed that Mweb is shaping the DownStorm downloads slightly, but then again there is a DownStorm proxy you can use to bypass it.
 
mmmmm..... Im already paying R539p/m for 4mb uncapped, I cannot afford to test both :/
 
well I'll PM you a link off my DownStorm account. See what speed it downloads. I grabbed it earlier off TPB. Maybe ask AeroVPS (user on the forum) for a test account? In the end you should get away with R100 about for either one you use.
 
I currently use both of them extensively. However from end of June I will have to give one of them up. They both have their pro's and con's.

Personally though if you are interested rather send me a pm, I would not discuss this with all the reps around
 
I signed up for Downstorm yesterday and still have not received my Username and Password.... I was sent an email today saying I would get the Username and Password today, and nothing....
 
i have noticed that when I try to retrieve certain downloads on aero (via filezilla) that it says directory cannot be read - yet the torrent download has completed successfully.
I then cannot dload it at all.

The same torrent via downstorm completes fine as well and is downloaded normally. Anyone have this issue?
I have logged a ticket - currently being investigated.

EDIT - as per feedback from Aerovps - it is a filezilla issue. Downloaded the patch and tried the problem folder again.
Works 100% now.

another thing i have noted:

load a torrent (the same one) on both aero and downstorm, and then watch them download.
on downstorm I will have a lot more peers and seeders when compared to aero, and as a consequence the download completes faster on downstorm. havent really seen it the other way yet.

EDIT: Started off a torrent (1.5G) this morning - tried it on both - aerovps completed in around 60-70 mins, downstorm still busy.

I'm going to update your ticket in about 2 minutes. It's a FileZilla bug, and I'll send you a hotfix. At least we made you an alternative download route, so you weren't completely stuck. ;)
 
Joined Downstorm over the weekend. I don't have any experience on AeroVPS though, but so far I am very happy. I can download from Downstorm at 410 kBps. So far I am very happy with them.
 
You get a web based control panel to manage your RS downloads and login to a premium account. It gets saved where you down easily download the RS files with a download manager.
 
dont know if it just me (or linked to download issues on torrents and newsgrps on mweb) but for the last day or 2 I have been getting really crappy speeds when dloading from my ftp site (aerovps). Downloads now are lingering on 30KB/s - and this on a 4MB line.

by contrast, on downstorm - been getting close to 400KB/s - at about 4pm

anyone else having the same?
