Difference between E7500 & E7600 cpu's

Would there be a great difference between these two processors? I am building a new PC and cannot decide which to go for the E7500 2.93Ghz or E7600 3.06Ghz. The price difference is about R300. My current PC is a P4 3.0Ghz.

I will be using the PC as a media centre, using my 42" plasma tv as its permanent monitor. I don't play games at all on the PC. I will also get either a HD4650 512Mb or HD4670 1Gb graphics card with the cpu. I already have 2x 2Gb DDRII 800Mhz memory.

The E7xxx is overkill - go for an E5300!

Go for the cheaper one, you will not notice a difference between the two....

the only diff is the multipler.... but the ceaper the processor the better... lots of ram is nice if you gonna use media broweser

Don't assume all Celerons are rubbish:

E3300 benchmark score
R593

E5300 score
R670

E7500 score
R1 195

The E7500 costs twice as much as the E3300 with a performance loss of about 15%, in a home theatre setup you would probably never notice the difference.
Obviously these figures aren't everything, but you can get a good idea of the general performance of the processor.

well, the fact that the E7600 has a higher multiplier means that you can overclock it a lot higher. But unless you wanna go ape with overclocking, the E7500 is ideal

The Celeron on Pentium are more than fast enough. Both are much faster than your P4
