DigiChilli January Status and feedback

OK...what is the function these IP's (Routers, Servers)

An IP is an identifier for a network device. It's used so you can find the device on the Internet.

A router is a device that passes traffic between different logical and/or physical networks. A server is a network device that has some data you want to access (e.g. hosting a web page).

Download "What's Running".

Install and once running, launch xbox.

Click the IP tab and copy the details of the IP number.

The xbox as in the gaming console so therefore this app could not possibly be run. Is there any other method to find out the server address? Get xbox live to work and DigiChilli will be the ultimate ISP because everything else is working perfectly!

All due respect, that's not Dave's job. You need to do some research or ask in a dedicated thread you have started.

Im just trying to find out what the routings are and where they go to.

Sorry dave, I had some issues with telkom earlier and just want to check if they sorted it out...Sorry guys.

Back to DC issues...

Torrents - still dead 1kbps Avg:mad:
Http - Not bad :D
Skype - Disconnects randomly
Pidgin - Same issue
IDM - Good download speeds (30 - 40kbps) :D:D
Gaming - Dont even want to try

Speedtest results

ADSL line 512kbps
Mild package:wtf:

Anyone else feel like DC is just a firewall that slowly adds more exceptions? :p

Use this test to see the route from that site's servers. http://www.rankingtoday.com/net/visual-route.php

Then this one. http://visualroute.visualware.com/

Download and install the software, VisualRoute 2010 from the above site.

That, then gives another point of view, regarding the traceroute.

Run the tests and then let DC know your results.

I'm sure the next few days will get better.

I'm having problems with Pidgin disconnecting at random intervals - quite irritating. Also, my entire connection just does nothing sometimes.......its still connected......but nothing works.. Have to reset router.

Last but not lease, torrents are a huge problem :( Whats the use having uncapped if the torrents dont work?

Out of curiosity, could I ask someone to fill me in on why DC has so many problems as well as why it's taking so long to resolve them?

Thanks.

Pidgin (AIM, GTalk, MSN, etc) still dead or very, very intermittent.

Skype works, but there's easily 2 minutes between typing a message and it getting across to your contact or vice-versa. Video calling is a huge no -- it doesn't even connect.

Somehow I doubt this will be fixed tonight or even this weekend and I have doubts if it'd even be fixed next week from what I've read so far. I hope I'm wrong...

I'm sorely disappointed and incredibly unimpressed with DC's level of service... :(

Please fix it :(

All I want is to browse and chat and have my XFire running. That's basic internet goodness for crying out loud
