DigiChilli January Status and feedback

So far all downloads I have found have been limited to 2-4kb/s per thread. So yes your toutube won't load properly since it's only loading on one thread.

DC do what you did lats night pls!

At the moment:

Browsing is ok
FTP up and down is not working
Online apps dont wanna log in
Skype is not working
IM (MSN, GTalk and Yahoo via Miranda) logs in but just sits there

DC brokeded it agian :( Let's hope last night wasn't a fluke and that it'll be the norm (at least) when DC is running 100%

Well a couple of good things for the day a bit off topic but it made me smile :)

1) Cricket - we're actually doing well.
2) Saw a Full HD flat screen tv (42 or 52 inch) for R6000.
3) Fibre lots of it in the Birch acres and birchliegh areas of kempton!

and finally what made me lol

Why is DC not answering about the "Up to 256kb", its rather an important change.

So I take it they have given up with the bursting, and decided that 256kbs is the maximum speed they are gonna offer for R300

LOL I'm sooo glad I did not join them last month yet.
I think I will wait for few months more before I might join..

Afrihost @ R29/GB FTW!!!!!!

But please DigiChilli get ur network ready and stable very soooon I am craving to get uncapped with you guys.

everything international is dead torrents HTTP u name it if it international its dead

Thanks for the update, Dave. :D

Secondlife is still flowing well. Once a sim has loaded the speed settles around a very stable 5-8KB.

The sim I'm in has loaded, so when I turn it only jumps to about 10-12KB. When other avatars appear, it goes to around 23KB.

DC and Secondlife just works. :D

Did speedtests now, whilst using Secondlife, without any effect on the speed in Secondlife.

The tests also seem very stable today, if slightly slow, thanks to Secondlife running and streaming music. :D

30 kbps down (~0.03 Mbps, 4 KB/s) ↓
69 kbps up (~0.07 Mbps, 8 KB/s) ↑

Details:
100 KB downloaded in 27.563 seconds
100 KB uploaded in 11.906 seconds
Speed @ 42% of the average for digichilli.co.za

This one went a little haywire, like the San Francisco test does sometimes... 3.40Mbps... wish it was for real... :D http://www.speedtest.net/result/684421261.png

Not to jinx it but youtube is streaming very nicely now. I restarted the router not sure if it had something to do with that.

k guys it looks like dc has changed the wording on there offer...saying up to 256 and then saying bursting from 256....so its no longer garanteed 256. Dave if you can pls comment.
